QUOTE(crayzee @ Feb 18 2016, 07:13 PM) well 4-5hours SOT might not be enough for you but not for everyone who uses phone heavily. Mate8 emphasizes on battery life. Some might think huawei cutting cost for not using QHD screen but FHD on 6inch screen is actually sufficient and the PPI is not really low to begin with. The reason you see that the note5 screen more awesome is due to the amoled display being used instead of LCD. Amoled colors tend to be more vibrant. If you wana pay premium price why settle for QHD? go for 4k 4k already overkilled your display.that totally radical. Haha. Ic, wrong reading the lable. Extra another one day. Hmmmm

Live Life Cool

what's with the fuss man? i coming to Mate8 from Note4. despite the battery life test in gsmarena, in real life usage, the Mate8 battery life is way better than Note4 as real life comparison. i can hardly drain and deplete my Mate 8 in 24hours usage, with FB, whatsapp, wechat, line, viber, beetalk, kaokaotalk, icq, bbm, twitter, instagram, 17 and etc signed in. i think the only phone can beat Mate8 in battery life will be Lenovo P1 and Huawei X2 with 5000mah. and i somehow prefer the screen on the Mate8's FHD screen, given me coming from 2k screen on Note4. if you really die die want to have the 2k screen psychology symptom in your phone, look else where. simple and easy. There is reason why Huawei die die do not want to put 2k screen in their phones yet. lol. This post has been edited by Gouki: Feb 19 2016, 07:18 PM

To each his own. I'd rather have long battery life than blinding screens LOL. Also, I'd prefer the battery depleted because of own usage, instead of some superb blinding screen.. On a side note, Mate 7 easily achieves 7 hrs SOT. This Mate 8, coupled with new processor should be able to get to 10 hrs SOT This post has been edited by yoyoan: Feb 20 2016, 02:04 AM

QUOTE(raynman @ Feb 20 2016, 06:38 AM) Since you all are talking about SOT and battery optimization, how about the SOT achieved on my lowly LG G2? It's a shame LG don't manage to do the same with LG G3&G4 though.

Good to know some company like Huawei to just stick to FHD.Hope they continue on good battery life performance phone.Even on my Mediapad X1 FHD is nice and many people say it's screen is nice.

In the near future, you'll see people craving for 4K screens and no fark is given to good battery life. This post has been edited by xperiaDROID: Feb 20 2016, 10:49 AM

If fully on wifi just on few hours usage I project up to 12 hours. Overall I deemed even better than Mate7. Guess Marshmallow is a contributing factor too
