I think the code doesn't apply only to Mate 8, u can use the code for any phone on gems, hence all phones are cheaper.

this is not Tech280, i am using new code Phone280 now, hehe...

This price only cheaper RM7 than mine, and i am okay with it, hehe...

This is a quick simple guide on how to unlock the phone bootloader

Make sure you had register a Huawei ID first. You can do it from the phone or at its website at : https://uniportal.huawei.com/accounts/regis...Register&nls=en
For phone number - just put in any 8 digit fictitious number ( I use 12345678)

After ONLY 14 days than go to :

Log in your HW ID and go to this site :
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hw...ad&mod=list#_=_

Choose unlock bootloader tab at top right
You will than be guided how to get your unlock code
For Product ID, use dialpad and dial *#*#1357946#*#*
You will get a 8 digit Product ID

Follow the steps thereafter and you will get a 16 digit number UNLOCK CODE

Switch off phone
On PC, go to folder where you had install the SDK/Fastboot commands : browse to the folder android-sdk-windows/platform-tools : on notebook press shift and right bottom of touchpad and select Open command window here
You will go straight to ms dos mode directly to the folder

Switch off phone. Connect it to PC. Press vol down n power simultaneously and phone will boot to Fastboot/Bootloader mode
Type in following commands :

fastboot devices ( you will see phone detected with a series of numbers)
fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ( xx...xxx is your 16 digit unlock code)

Reboot phone and your phone will be 100% wipe clean and bootloader is unlock
Be WARNED you will see an annoying message about bootloader being unlock and phone is now unsecure before the actual HW boot splash screen. This warning message I noted crops out only on Marshmallow phones ( Nexus 6P too) and never in Jellybean or Lollipop firmware

If you wish to remove the annoying warning message :
MUST Factory reset phone first
Boot phone into fastboot/bootloader mode

Type :
fastboot devices
fastboot oem relock xxxxx..xxxx (xx.xxx is your unlock code)

gemfive service is suck...

i placed my order for mate 8 on last monday but till now i havent receive the phone, i called their cs and they dare to told me that the phone is ready to pickup from courier since last thursday but no action unitl now......

i asked to self collect the phone but they said is against their company policy....pui

Yes i understand. What I meant was the code does not limited to Mate 8 phone only, the code can be applied to ALL the phone purchase from Gemfive website. I tried to use the code for s7 edge, and it works.

For all ur information, there is another code Phone360 can be used, which allow u to get higher discount @ RM360.

i just took 4days to arrive door step.. its not gemfive fault sometime...its merchant and courier service delay for it.. but u pay for low price in the market.. so nth to blame..

do anyone here purchase any protection cover or scree guard that come with camera flim? im looking one of it to protect my camera lens

mate 8 got no double tap 2 wake right? or if it's can be enable, how does it perform compare to v10 or g4? thanks

there's no double tap to wake...

I too miss the double tap to wake/sleep. mate 8 doesn't support this but can be enable by rooting. refer xda.

Is there a way to turn off the drop down notification bar? It's annoying...

Setting - Notification panel & status bar - notification manager

Then from there disable the "banner" notification of respective app that u don't want drop down notification
