Just play the phone. The build quality is damn solid and nice! Performance is extremely smooth! For the price of RM 2,099 for 32GB, 3 GB RAM and RM 2,399 for 64GB, 4 GB is a great price for such quality build phone.

1st impression I really like it! and finally Huawei remove the top black shadow effect at main home screen.

+1. Very true. Sadly HW is still a not well accepted brand here. Most users are more comfortable with Apple, Samsung, HTC or Sony
This Mate8 is now my second favorite phablet after LG V10. The S7e is in 3rd place.

My first impression on mate 8. I got the champagne gold colour because the mocha Brown is not available from the Huawei shop that I went to. I was attracted to gold once I hold the phone. The build quality is just excellent. The SOT after first charge was about 8 hours. Usage include YouTube videos, messaging and video call. I would say I'm very impressed with the battery life. More than double from my old Note 3.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with every aspect of the phone. I think Huawei really know what consumers want. Great phone design, excellent battery life and great performance. The camera is good enough for me. Probably I came from note 3 which I think is a huge upgrade. Everything is running buttery smooth

The few downside is the UI and the keyboard. I've replaced it with nova launcher and SwiftKey. The screen quality is nice with more natural colour compared to AMOLED. But I notice that the screen is not as sensitive as my note 3. Sometimes I can just scroll with my finger nail tip on my note 3 but not so on mate 8 despite I already on the glove mode. Don't really think this an issue, just need some time to get used to.

I play at two places. Huawei and DiGi shop both is 4G.

If your area have 4G then use 4G, they is big differences on network speed.

From paper that brown something damn gorgeous. It really tempting my feeling on buying it haha

Will it damaged my phone if I use oppo fast charger to charge my mate 8?

Oppo vooc charger
Input 100-240v~ 50-60hz 0.7A
Output 5v=5A

As compared to mate 8 fast charger
Input 100-240v~ 50-60hz 0.5A
Output 5v=2A or 9v=2A

I seriously donno what those numbers mean...

You will not get any fast charging from the Oppo charger. Their fast charging ONLY works on Oppo phones whose battery is 6 pin vs 4 pins of other smartphone batteries
No, it will not spoil your phone. You will just get normal slow charging

This is a short-term overview (3 days to be exact) of my stock Champagne Gold Huawei Mate 8 NXT L-29 64GB RM1979 in comparison with my old and trusty [rooted, Xposed, Greenified] Red LG G2 D802 32GB RM1450 (April 2014 - April 2016 ownership).

1. Build quality is really impressive from the front to back of the phone, oozing the premium qualities as I never had before. Not to mention the packaging itself feels premium when opened. Not expecting the included gold flip case and already applied SP. Although plastic, LG G2 is also quite good in its build and packaging.

2. The power and volume button - feels like a bit flimsy/loose; twice or thrice I've been accidentally press buttons when holding. Compared to D802, never had this issue as there was no side buttons on it.

3. Haven't tried out Nova Launcher, now getting used to the EMUI interface. Sadly there was no option for notifications-only volume control, no other font styles, only one style/theme for messaging which is too formal. LG has in-built themes plus have controls for ringtones, notifications, media and calls volume.

4. The size and weight is quite apparent. I felt like holding a slim but sturdy brick. If before, I used to hold my phone even when at the table, now I felt like I'm more towards resting the phone on table. Casing is needed for protection here, whereas my D802 is free from casing and screen protector since usage. Back cover bought from 11street, IPAKY Soft Rubber case.

5. Battery life is amazingly superb, exceed but not too far off from my rooted D802. Friday 5am unplugged, fully WiFi usage of downloading apps, transfer data and updating EMUI to B170, lastly charge at Saturday 7pm with 25% battery left.

6. Happy to be able to bring over my Swiftkey usage with ease from my D802. The stock Huawei keyboard is hopeless.

7. Using fingerprint scanner is only permissible when holding the brick, not when lying on the table. Yeah I can input my PIN when its on the table, but I'm paying a premium price for one of its function which is the fingerprint scanner.

8. Haven't feel the warm/hot rearside yet when browsing compared to D802. D802 will be hot especially around the camera module when browsing or during intensive usage.

9. Speaking about camera, as I'm just a point-and-shoot user, picture quality (set to 12 Megapixel; 16:9 aspect ) is better than my D802 especially in low light. Focusing is quick, but not too fast. Can't really compare the picture quality between B103 and B170.

10. I already missing the double touch to wake/sleep function =(

Overall quite happy with 3 days of ownership. Hope to share and learn more from you guys. Cheers!
