ok. i'll try to answer this as best i could..
this is completely based on my understanding..
dont started to flame all of a sudden..
i dont own a 360, but my bro does..
so its been a full month and there's no problem us
registering live, firmware updates etc...
M$ currently cant detect modded 360 consoles because it is
flash thru the dvd drive to able the machine to play copy games.
* u can actually mod it urself, by attaching the drives to ur pc and start flashing *
unlike xbox1 which had mod chip installed.
ok, how about the last update that wipe out all the modded 360?
on that particular update it'll check whether he firmware on ur drive and
machine are correct. either one of them didnt match, it'll make a false
flash and make ur 360 die.
i dont know about this, but there's a way around it to make it alive again
by reflashing the drives.

hmm.. the 3rod.. i'd say it has nothing to do with modded or unmodded consoles.
3rod is actually based on flashing and hardware problems rite?
only the modded owners hav to be aware when ur dies.. u cant save it
anymore.

and the 360 copy games are running fine.
except xbox1 games tho incompatibility issues.. dang..
