My redmi note 2 prime come with a modified China rom that already preloaded with Google play store. It is 66.33.77.00 version. This China rom is quite good except when using Bluetooth connection to my Bluetooth speaker , it got cracking sound. So , I decided to use miflash to flash the Hong Kong's global rom 7.0.7.0. After updated , the Bluetooth problem solved and the system run so much better except the Google play store problem as mentioned by many members here. A few days later it auto update 7.0.12.0 but play store problem still exist. Now thinking of flashing to the Global beta rom and see how. Anyone tried this rom before ? Does it had the Google play store problem as well ?

still got google play store problem from time to time... but not that frequent tho

Cannot wait for them to start selling the extra battery kit, and battery because the phone at the present does not last a day with a single charge. Any ideas when they may release it?
*
how you use your phone daily? hmm.gif
mine at the end of the day still got around 50-40% juice left wor. I use wechat, whatsapp, surf some web and play some rayman games and still got half of the battery life. Wifi * Bluetooth on as well

It works, tested.

If phone bricked, use miflash, sure work. Also, flashed before. Just make sure battery above 50%, otherwise ur phone may appear KO when trying to boot up after flash. If KO, halfway, use miflash with wipe all function. Quite simple and straightforward. Don't blame me if brick urs.

hmm... mine doesn't. Prime AP set. Tried tru updater & recovery also. Verification failed.

Then ur set has the other type of MI recovery. I confirm 100% it doesn't work with the MI recovery on my device. Other users confirmed it too.

The only best way is to load the recovery.img via fastboot. I have done it and succeeded numerous of time.

so redmi note 2 is a failed ?

saw so many negative comment

and redmi note 3 seem a far better choice right ?
*
I own both Redmi Note 2 prime and redmi note 3 here. I can tell you this version 3 is not really "better" unit compare to version 2.

yes RN3 has perks like better battery , metal casing and fingerprint but it lacks micro SD slot, removable battery, gps problems, no international rom yet due to hardware lock down. Even my Prime RN2 cpu is more powerful than RN3 LOL

How come there are GPS issues on RN3? Since RN2 and RN3 use the same chipset, is it phone design issues like antennae etc?  hmm.gif
*
idk lol

i place them side by side. launch apps that requires gps like waze, google maps etc . MY RN2 locks on like instantly whereas RN3 takes his own sweet time like 10-20-30+seconds or more just to lock on... wah lau eh! sometimes during outside I need to check the weather and it just won't load cause can't detect GPS pulak wth mad.gif

How does this root?

Actually I am still dunno what you guy saying for rooting android OS?
*
rooting your phone grants you something like "admin" rights on your PC. Can do alot of things like hacking your OS, installing special software, increase/decrease cpu clock, block ads, remove bloatwares etc etc
however there's a risk involve also la if you are not a techie then better don't venture into root area laugh.gif
