wowwww looks awesome! hows the speed compare to MIUI7?
*
Performance is as par as MIUI but needs more optimization on some part.

I think battery is somehow improved in this ROM compared to MIUI7. I can feel it does not suck battery as much as MIUI7. When running on MIUI7, whenever the screen is on sure will notice percentage drop like water but its not the case in the CM12.1 ROM. I can barely see the battery percentage drop when I'm on the screen with this ROM.

Need to flash thru TWRP. Easy only to do. You can always backup your current ROM with its data and restore later if u dont like the CM12.1 ROM. I wish the CM12.1 was a stable release, I would be the first to use it permanently. For me it is definitely > MIUI.

Now reverted back to MIUI and installed Greenify, Amplify and Power Nap. Let's see how the battery behaves.

damn... the phone charging is way too slow. it support slow charging technology 1.0 ?

8pm start charge until now. 2 hours . battery up from 16% to only 50%...

when i use xiaomi 16000 mAh power bank. it gv me 6% to 16% in 15 min.

i would say the charger definitely is super cheap plak .

samsung s4 charger is way faster than this also.
*
Lol, your phone/charger is probably faulty. Mine charges full in 1hr30min+ with the fast charging plug adapter xiaomi provided.

I have just underclocked the CPU to 1.4Ghz (Root needed) and battery life seems to be awesome (not as much drain as stock 2Ghz when using WhatsApp etc).

With 1.4Ghz, I dont feel any difference in performance. But I'm pretty sure when playing games, it will be noticeable.

Will update back after I test with a full battery cycle.

u set max clock to 1.4?
*
Yep, used this method :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note...o-save-t3233745

But according to my view. Previously aggressive WhatsApp within 2mins, drains 1% of my battery. After underclocking it, it only eats up 1% after 5min of aggressive WhatsApp.

Anyhow, lets see how it goes and will update back.

My  cousin's RN2 punya screen froze leh.
Tried format data, cache,sd. But still not usable.only side button usable.

Froze means what? Only black screen?

When starting up the phone, does the MI Logo appears? If yes, most probably software.

Froze
Meaning
Screen does not respond to my touch.
Yes, the Mi logo does appear and boot to MIUI so maybe flashing a new Custom ROM helps. But how to flash TWRP leh.
*
Does not respond to touch looks like a hardware issue to me sweat.gif . You tried to reflash MIUI 7 Global ROM already?

To install TWRP, need to flash the recovery.img via fastboot (Power + Vol Down button). Please follow this guide carefully :

Can tell me how do u root ur note 2?  I have gooogled around how to root but can't flash twrp using updater apps..  when it reboot it says that update package invalid
*
You cant flash the TWRP using Mi Recovery. Tested it and it does not work. Only was is to flash it via fastboot. Please follow this guide carefully :

http://en.miui.com/thread-146299-1-1.html

Good Luck. If you need help or stuck in the process, let me know.

You can flash twrp via the miui updater and root it. Just two files, one for twrp and one for root. 2 simple steps. Check miui forum. Done that with phone and mipad.
*
Nope for Redmi Note 2 it is not possible. Actually it depends on ur recovery. Got two type of MI Recovery. The Malaysia set RN2 does not work when flashing the twrp through MI recovery.

It works, tested.

If phone bricked, use miflash, sure work. Also, flashed before. Just make sure battery above 50%, otherwise ur phone may appear KO when trying to boot up after flash. If KO, halfway, use miflash with wipe all function. Quite simple and straightforward. Don't blame me if brick urs.
*
Then ur set has the other type of MI recovery. I confirm 100% it doesn't work with the MI recovery on my device. Other users confirmed it too.

The only best way is to load the recovery.img via fastboot. I have done it and succeeded numerous of time.
