Been following the previous thread since before pre-order but still haven't bought one lol. Waiting for the ROM to be stable with fewer bugs

Please define stable... every now and then bugs might be introduced when there is a newer version or feature bring in.

I would be more forgiving as long as it does not cause massive slowdown/heat/battery drain.

chinese baidu alot ,

use cheap display panel , not SHARP brand as promise , compare meizu m2 note IGZO display

battery lasting and heating problem also
*
XiaoMi already explained that they never advertised that RN2 use Sharp LCD panel.
It was the authorized reseller fault because they use the previous Mi Note / Mi Note Pro catchy marketing info for RN2.

Unfortunately, this is a miscommunication between XiaoMi and authorized resellers.

Battery lasting issue is not a main concern because it is fixed in later ROM update (ver 7.0.11.0 and later).

Actually after set the color temperature to cool, the yellowish is almost gone la, not much noticeable now.

This phone is not extremely fast.
It's performance is a bit slower than the Snap Dragon S600 device,  a bit lag here and there, noticeable frame drop on heavy graphic game.

It is much slower than a Snap Dragon 800 device, even if the benchmark is higher than SD800 device.
My phone with SD800 only able to get benchmark around 38000 in Antutu, while this RN2easily get around 46000, even another device with SD801 just able to get 43000.

Now I start to believe benchmark actually is quite pointless, real life performance is more important.

If you are talking about 3D performance, it is weaker because it has a very weak GPU comparing to Adreno GPU in Snapdragon series.
