New Redmi Note 2 user reported in!

Hi, which rom is recommended? I'm currently at latest global beta.

Yeah, actually I plan to buy next year coz money issue. I saw 1G quite reputable, so choose AP over ORI.

Yesterday got the phone from 1G, got Miui 6 loaded (forget what version).

Then I fastboot to the latest Developer Version 5.12.10, everything works fine.

Again, I download the update zip of V7.0.8.0 and flash it over the "updater" app, after finish install, then all the gapps crashed. So I went ahead & Factory reset, everything went fine except Music app & Equalizer keep crashing.

Anyone experience this?

What ROM is recommended?

I using the developer global latest version, now working fine already. Just the battery can last around 3 hours ++ on mix data/wifi usage.

I have the same problem after installed the latest China Developer Rom. I factory reset then reinstall the Google apps with Google Installer, then the version Google Installer installed is older version of play store, it do force close like your situation. Then wait for awhile the latest version of Play Store installed, the problem gone away.

I'm not sure whether it will be fixed or not in your situation but my one seems to be working fine already. Are you still having the problem??

"NO OS Installed", this probably is the system partition being wiped. Try installing ROM not working?

Yes, Redmi Note 2 is quite confusing. Download the fastboot rom from the link above. I think this is the most direct way to have a complete & clean ROM.

Try download it using PC, using phone download quite hard, as the screen off then the WiFi will disconnect. Ur phone before OS corrupt is using which rom? Ap set or ori set?

I bought my phone on December 25 at 1G, AP set also. When open box, the device already loaded Miui v6 with the bloatware they installed. So I go download this rom LINK, the fastboot method and flashed it. After that, phone just work fine.

A previous user from Mi 3 & Mi 4i here. Mi 3 is a great phone but lack of SD card & 4G, Mi 3 performance really very good.

I never tried TWRP on Redmi Note 2 before, but while I using Mi 4i, on TWRP installing Miui rom need install few times only can success. Maybe Miui rom not fully compatible with TWRP.

Fastboot method will wiped all your data, so do a backup before flash with fastboot. Then your phone will become totally new.

Compare Mi 4i, RN2 & Mi 3.

Mi 4i > RN2 > Mi 3 = camera
Mi 3 > Mi 4i > RN2 = speaker (if headphone, I think is the same)
RN2 > Mi 3 > Mi 4i = Performance

The Mi 3 camera actually support 4K recording but at very low FPS(20 ~ 25fps), need special app to use it. And it also support RAW mode by using alternative app.

But on photo, the Mi 4i turns out to be very good, very vibrant.

the comment there a bit negative, all say the button a bit too tight, scare will spoil the button.. currently im using Nilkin TPU bought from Sakurazz.. quite nice..

I just get this Tempered Glass from Sakurazz! The quality is damn good, the screen looks super HD & very smooth..

why format the gapps will gone? i tot this only happen on china rom? btw, global 7.1.1 ald release.. juz fastboot it haha
