QUOTE(GreenNerdy @ Aug 23 2007, 09:47 PM) I just came back from Pet Safari.. No cage please. Hedgehogs are climbers but they get hurt when they fall. Best is using storage box & most of us here are using it. Get the biggest storage box you can. checked the cage and the wheel and all those stuffs.. btw the biggest wheel is so huge and heavy, is the baby hedgehog strong enough to run?? and there are many types of bedding, which type are you all using?? As for the wheel, pets wonderland is cheaper & the size is 12". Don't worry about the baby hedgies, they can run the wheel.. Bedding: Chipsi Classic,Super or Delikate are the brands we use most. No pine cedar... |

QUOTE(GreenNerdy @ Aug 23 2007, 10:57 PM) hmm not cage...the one like Max's... If you plan to put the wheel, the one like Max using can't fit in. The storage box you have also can't fit the wheel. The storage box that can fit in the wheel must be 65cm bigger else too crowded.too bad cannot fit the wheel...i'm still considering >< i've got a small storage box at home, around 40x40 cm only... can use that first until the hedgie gets bigger? are hedgehog sensitive to red colour? |

almighty,
If you want the bonding to be faster, put one of your old smelly shirt inside the tank. Let Chacha gets use to your scent. Another way is using mealies. |

Yea... Pokimons like to run on wheel. They look so cute when running on wheel. All you need is just a lil effort on cleaning the wheel.

12" wheel has no problem for hedgie. As i know the 12" wheel sell in Pet Safari cost RM80. Not sure with the RM50 you bought. Besides, you can get a 12" wheel at Pets Wonderland cost around RM61. Not sure whether the price rise or not but you can have a look there.

Yea. Pokimons are like that. Sleep inside the hidebox most of the day. They only come out when it's dark. Try see what time your pokimon will come out to roam around during night time & off light. Ren normally will come around 10 something when i off the light. He will have his kibbles & off to wheel. Running on wheel for hours.
Most of us here feeding RC 34 kittens. Can't really remember the protein & fat % though. |

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Sep 12 2007, 11:15 AM) Er after i try awhile, feel very "sayang" lo , my hedgehog non stop run at wheel there four 2 hour..... ( man not tired 1? ) Oh... Your wheel is only 8". It doesn't suit for hedgie, it will hurt the hedgie's back. What box are you using for your hedgie's tank? The minimum size to fit a 12" wheel should be around 660 x 460 x 390 mm storage box.I have make mistake about the wheel i buy, i buy the wheel size is 21cm and not 12" ( 12" is it chinchilla that kind big big wheel, I can't fit in my hedgehog cage T-T). Maybe need to try find the Roller for door or window then only can DIY myself, hard to find those roller at hardware shop. |

QUOTE(NitroGuy @ Sep 17 2007, 10:05 AM) Hi all Newbie here, Can i know how to prevent hedgehog from getting skin problem ? Can anyone let me know what bedding should i give her and how many days i need to change a new bedding ? What is her diet ? Need to eat meal worms ? Or i just give her the kitten food ? She can cold at night ? If yes what should i do ? How long do i need to bath her ? Need to take her out to take some sun ? Most of the answers can be gotten at first page as it is very basic to keep a hedgie. Anyway, here are some short answer regarding your questions.Sorry for too many questions i just want to keep her in good way , hope you all can help me ! Thank you. 1. Can i know how to prevent hedgehog from getting skin problem ? As long the environment is clean, hedgehog seldom has skin problem. Main problem would be mites. But if you change the bedding frequently, this ain't a problem. 2. Can anyone let me know what bedding should i give her and how many days i need to change a new bedding ? Most of us here using wood shaving. Brands like Chipsi Classic/Super, Delikate & Aspen. But use Delikate would be better as Chipsi brand recently is quite dusty & Aspen is expensive. You can also use Breeder Celect, just that it's quite expensive to be used. Changing your bedding is depending on you. Some of us here change once a week or once every2 weeks. 3. What is her diet ? Need to eat meal worms ? Or i just give her the kitten food ? Staple: Kitten food. Brands like Innova Evo, Royal Canin, Orijen & so on. AVOID Commercialize brand such as Friskies, Iams & Whiskies. Treats: Mealworms, crickets, fruits & vegie (if your pokimon takes it) 4. She can cold at night ? If yes what should i do ? As long is not in air-con room. She'll will not get cold. If you're afraid that she'll get cold, just put in a towel or your old shirt. 5. How long do i need to bath her ? Once a month already can. But if you feel she's very dirty, you can bath her but not too frequent. 6. Need to take her out to take some sun ? No. Hope this might help... |

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Sep 17 2007, 11:02 AM) babymoli about the Commercialize brand cat food, how bout Purina kitten cat food? Is it ok to feed? Ya i know the first page got list there, but what is the problem on commercialize brand cat food ??? I'm not sure with Purina. But as i know the brands i mentioned above has poor nutri in it. They spend more on advertisement rather than the quality on the food. |
