You forget about Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul. Other brands are Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care, Natural Life Feline Adult Formula, Wellness Super5Mix Lite Formula, BLUE Spa Select Lite Cat Formula, Natural Balance Venison & Green Pea Formula and PetGuard Organic Mature Cat Food. But I doubt you can get some of the brands here in Malaysia.
*
Hahah... I only place the brands that are available in Malaysia. Chicken Soup cannot find anymore.

The list of brands that I listed are the only ones suitable. Kitten food is not good for adults. Yah, you may think that high protein is suitable but it is wrong.... Kitten food is high in fat. If you want a high protein diet for your hedgie, feed it Orijen. 45% protein.... also, look at the ingredients. Purina has by-products and gluten in it. As stated before, it is better to avoid petfood that has these 2 ingredients.

The list of catfood that can be fed to hedgehogs was from people overseas.

Never ever feed Whiskas or Friskies or whatever cheap catfood that you can find. Iams also is not suitable.

Hao, Coldstorage and Giant has stopped bringing in Chicken Soup. We can find the substitute which is Premium Edge, almost similar.... I think some coldstorage branches and also Pet Safari has.

Chicken meat, never give process meatballs. If you want to feed meat, only choose chicken breast or turkey meat, mince it yourself in the food processor and lightly cook it with no oil or seasoning. One, this is troublesome and not all hedgehogs will eat it.

It's easy.... beginner I understand lah.... but already kept hedgie for 2 years and never hold like that? How you hold your hedgie lah? Hahaha... I always hold mine like that since the 1st day I got them. It's very easy. At first a bit strange and uncomfortable since the quills are quite sharp, but then you will get used to it. I can hold hedgehog but can never bring myself to hold Durian LOL...

that brush looks like the one used for brushing toilet  blink.gif

No lah.... it is for dishes. Sold at Kitchen utensil area hahaha.... not for toilet lah. I discovered this when I helped my friend to bath her hedgie. She got no old toothbrush so just handed me that brush. So I use, found it extremely good to use and it cleans better than a toothbrush. The bristles not too hard, so it is comfortable for them hahahah.

All hedgehogs have their own personalities.... some are just overall grumpy, some are laid back, some are friendly while some are plain timid.... I can see this with the 3 hedgehogs I have heheheh.

*
2 mealworms a day? So little.... give more lah since in the wild they eat insects everytime. Can give crickets also.

Maize and corn is the same..... as long corn is not the 1st ingredient listed then it is ok to use. Also, it has no by-products so it is safer.

Mealworms can get from shop selling birds or pet fish.... if malay shop, say you want ulat. If chinese, you can say mein pau chong.... cantonese for bread worms.

Let her rest today and tomorrow.... then later only start to handle her.

My hedgie just give birth and got 4 babies if i'm not mistaken...What should i do ?? I alrdy give her a big hide box but the babies outside the box. Izzit the female will carry the babies inside later ?
*
Hahah,... congrats! Well, do not touch the babies. Leave it be. Don't disturb the box. The thing about breeding is that sometimes not all females are ready to be mothers.... she may reject them and she may not. Best thing is leave it and do not touch the mom or the babies. Place food and water as usual and leave them like that for 2 weeks.... then only you can start to clean the tank.

Coz up to the female she wants them in the box or out. I guess she will either nurse outside loh. Got put the tank in a quiet corner of your home? Got put some tissue paper as nesting material?

No, don't touch..... Hedgehogs are like that, not all hoglets make it coz it depends on the mom. You also cannot foster coz there is no such suitable substitute milk in the market for hedgehogs, only Esbilac and it is only available in Singapore.

DEALING WITH REJECTED HOGLETS: http://hedgehogclub.com/breeding.html

QUOTE
If you find a hoglet that has been rejected by its mother, you can try fostering under another mother with babies that are about the same age or you can hand-feed if you choose. I find that many rejected babies have birth defects the mother knows about and we don't see, so I don't try to fosters these. If something happens to mom, or she gets sick, though, I do try to foster the babies. If I don't have another female to foster them under, I use FIRST BORN kitten formula, (goats milk also works well) and feed every 3 - 4 hours - just as you would a baby bird. While feeding them you must also stimulate them to urinate by gently stroking the lower abdomen.

Hand-feeding should only be used as a last resort and does not need to be used to produce friendlier animals. The survival rate is very poor for hand-fed hoglets at the present time. Most die within the first two weeks. If at all possible, foster the babies rather than hand-feed.

Sometimes it may seem cruel to leave out the particular hoglet.... but then this is how the females deal with sick or weak babies, they leave them because they rather concentrate their strength and save their milk for the stronger ones that would survive. Mother hedgehogs know what to do, so if she rejects 1 hoglet, gotta accept it loh. Sometimes these things happen, depends on luck.

Never get hedgehogs from petshops.... it may be tempting but then there is a very high risk of mites, sickness, some may be older than you think.... best is find breeder lah. We got a few breeders here, but do be aware of who is a good breed and who is not recommended.
