alignment of the car seems fine as the tyres wear quite evenly and the steering don't vibrate much as high speed, it is just that the steering is skewed to the left and not straight.

anyone knows what noise is this?

it is coming from the driver side of the engine (nearby to the alternator), went for a quick check at nearby workshop and they suspect it is some pulley/ bearing that is worn out.
*
If you have done your alignment and balancing, and steering still skewing, perhaps you can check on the power steering bush, this is persona common problem. Otherwise do check your front suspension mounting, might rosak already.

Both of these happened to my persona before.

okay thanks a lot i will get it checked as soon as possible.
shouldn't be, my intake is already converted to IAFM-less. the workshop tried spraying water at the few pulleys nearby the alternator and the sound kinda got away but came back as soon as the water dries out.

by the way, anyone here has any recommended workshop? i haven't been in KL for a long time so i don't know any reputable shop sad.gif

How's the review of IAFM-less intake from you? Does it comes with big difference?

thank you, ill give them a try  biggrin.gif
to be honest i don't feel much difference as my driving style is quite chill and i always aim for best fc, but i would say maybe even slightly smoother power? but my opinion is invalid because the iafm is broken since the first day i got the car.

main difference is i don't have listen to the annoying 'tak tak tak' sound.
*
I see.. At least there is a way of maintaining the same spectrum of fuel consumption after changing to non-IAFM intake. Thanks a lot!

what are the average fc that u get? my persona with around 50 city 50 highway averages 8-9L/100km (as shown on the meter). pure highway can get around 6+-L/100km.
*
With 50% trunk road and 50% city driving, my average on meter is usually 7.X litre/100km, spending most of the time below 7.5l/100km.

If purely highway and below speed limit, my persona usually clock similarly with you... Around 6.4l/100km to 6.8l/100km like that.

Mine is a manual tranny by the way..

i'm using persona sv 2014. still ok to use full synthetic oil? cheap fully synthetic oil in lazada. will try shell.
by the way at what age of the car we are not encourage to use fully synthetic oil anymore and have to change to semi synthetic?
*
Usual rule is if tak makan banyak minyak then boleh pakai. The main concern is would you want or can afford to top up engine oil every time it hits a certain lower limit.

For example I heard it's recommended to check and top up engine oil every time you pump petrol, if you're driving a rotary engine car like RX7. My point is if such burning engine oil is permissible to car like that, then it should be reasonable for campro as long as owner can afford to top up engine oil regularly.

i dont get it. should i just change the engine oil after 10k km. why i do required top up although i do check my engine oil capacity before i travel long journey.
*
Erm... Think i confuses you. Let me cite an example:

You just serviced your car using fully synthetic oil today.
Your mechanic filled the oil level to second notch of your dipstick (full level engine oil).
You happily driven the car for 480km, or one full tank, then at petrol station when you isi minyak, you check check your engine oil level.
And OMG the engine oil makan sampai half of the dipstick indicator already, in the view that going by this rate, there'll be no engine oil left when you refill petrol next round, so you top up engine oil at petrol station.

Under this kind of circumstances, you have several options:

a) continue this modus operandi until your odometer clocks 10k km and heads to an engine oil change at your trusted workshop.

b) change to a more viscous engine oil, i.e. semi synthetic or mineral, so that oil evaporating rate will be reduced.

c) choose for overhaul, or top overhauled, or change the gasket that's responsible for the burned engine oil. Only your mechanic knows what you need.

On the side note, for Persona Elegance, Proton Centre told me that it doesn't matter i choose semi or fully, my OCI will be 5000km for them. That's why i stick to semi until now. Cheaper to use 5000km of semi synthetic and gain the fc versus mineral.

The fc gain you get from upgrading from semi to fully in my honest opinion does not justify the extra investment you pay for fully synthetic (based on change at every 5000km ya...), so it depends on you how long you want to keep your engine oil in oil sump lo.

Some mat salleh website actually explains that engine oil should be changed as frequent as possible if you can financially afford it, as soon as it detriorate down to a certain limit.

I guess this is the reason why some new model of car, like civic turbo has engine oil quality sensor to measure their OCI.

Worth to pay for the performance?

I came accross of this website long time ago. Think it's worth your time reading it.

Mini turbo happened before in Zordaq website the fin snaps and stuck in throttle body and manifold.

No need. Only required to change the manifold when shaft break.

guys
suddenly my radio turned of for a second and back on when aircond kick in
sometimes got multiple times until i need manually turn off aircond, and turn on again
usually happened waiting at traffic light
never happened imo during driving, only while stop
anyone encounter this?
*
Sounds like alternator gone. You try see see if this happens or not when you idle without air cond.

This occurs in my iswara last time. Alternator spoiled.

Recond for iswara was 200 ringgit. 7 years ago. 🤣

I seriously don't know the price of alternator for persona. Do please check with your trusted mechanic.

Hi all, anyone can offer suggestion on how to fix the front bumper issue? I'm referring to the front bumper part near the headlamp. Clip the always broke easily.

Would prefer not to resort to bumper quick release clip as that would require punching holes through fender.

Thanks.

Hi peeps , wanna ask when do u all change the water pump? Is there a certain mileage we need to change it?
*
Advice of proton edar to me last time was change in between every timing belt interval.

Which basically means every 160,000km
160,000 km
320,000 km
480,000 km

So on and so forth.

Yes. I think so. I actually tried diy to see if additional clip from inside, after jacking up the car, worked, but it never. Guess I'll just have it resign to the design flaw and live with it.

Any genuine engine oil will do. Just make sure you change according to oil change interval. Don't overfill, don't underfill.

Tesco has promotion on engine oil now. Shell fully synthetic RM129, Magnetec EU spec (API SL) RM99, Sell Semi synthetic 5L pack RM105.

recently check engine light will light up occasionally, lol, when it does the gear stuck at gear 2 and when u drive it wont shift to 3 or down to 1..when the car slow down it wont shift back to gear 1, then when the car stop, and shift to reverse, the car jerk quite heavily..plugged in computer say pedal POT 1 not plausible with POT 2 error, after clear the error code few days later the same problem came back, never face this before :S any idea? should send to proton sc?

** Update when the first time the check engine light is on i sent to workshop, they washed the throttle body, checked all the sensor, including gear, no error, just the POT 1 POT 2 error, after cleared the error code, still the same after few days
*
Yo bro, couldn't be of real help here since am driving a manual.

But you can try to disconnect battery for say 5 minutes and put it back, after erasing the error code. Works for me last time when i have a cryptic sensor error.

Seems to me this is wiring problem that's hard to catch. Good luck.
