QUOTE(1133 @ Jan 5 2016, 11:14 AM)
My New Persona brake is having inconsistent performance, sometime it will feel some vibration while braking, sometime it won't. All at about same speed.
And sometime when brake at higher speed, it seems like the brake wasn't sharp enough and will drag very long way to slow down.
It feel like exactly what I have with my old Pesona with rear drum brake, aren't new disc brake with ABS will have better performance?

Also, found the stock Silverstone tyre was very loud compare to my old XM2, dunno if go exchange will cost a lot or not.
*
maybe because higher temperature? i did experienced that after downhill from karak in a slightly faster pace.

My old persona also having same issue, but after I change to new disc and also change the brake pad to Bandix, it immediately improve a lot.
but I thought new persona had make improvement on the brake since they throw in ABS n all disc brake.

persona standard? ori pad?

i did experienced that on ori pads. didn't go long stretch downhill after changing so i'm not sure.
the discs should be the same as the old versions. ABS helps with braking, doesn't mean the temperature won't hike up.

I think ABS does not help improve the overall braking performance. It will help only if you're in a situation where the tyres don't have enough grip and lock up while braking. If I'm not mistaken, the Silverstone Kruizers aren't particularly famous for being that good anyway other than being relatively quiet compared to tyres around its range.

Consider changing the brake pads and tyres.

My evo 6 brake servo also seems to have already "warmed up". No longer goes crazy stiff after a short press. Now it's much easier to operate and get very strong braking power. The new rear discs are also a really nice addition.

lol, i really not familiar with tyres (spec nor pricing).. all the while just use goodyear, silverstone and sime tyres (just changing depend what stock they have.. been paid for RM 260 per pc)
just said silverstone felt same as goodyear nct5... sime tyres really a NO for.. too noisy and doesnt have much grip.

except toyo neo 3, what else tyres u guys could recommend?? something not more than RM200?
looking around at those old price list post.. many are from WH tyres at Kota Kemuning.. really that cheap? found out is about a 15min ride from my HQ.

NCT5 got so expensive? might as well get Michelin or Bridgestone
Mich PS3 RM235/donut. alignment extra RM25. my rear tyres are CD2.
but PS3 is 195/55 and CD2 is 195/60. so my front now a little bit lower but i cannot notice also. by calculation should be 10mm lower.

Inspira thread macam condemning CC5 saying sampah..the few posts that i read la, others tatau laugh.gif

Got. Up to 195/65R15 if I'm not mistaken.

So far so good. Quiet, but not enough to hide the fact that the Persona's soundproofing is not good. Its grip hasn't let me down so far. Dry and wet grip is very good. biggrin.gif

Also, just did a DIY on the steering rack bushing. Passenger side bushing is really easy to replace. You will need to get under the car to pull the driver side's bushing out unless you have really good grip and strength and can pull it out from the top. The bolts that secure the metal plates of the bushings can be accessed from the engine bay with the air filter housing taken out. I'm not sure if it's the same for Personas with ABS though. hmm.gif.

New driver side bushing was quite hard to get in because of the way it goes around the steering rack. Compared to the old one it is in the "D-" shape. " - " indicates the point where each end of the bushing meets. The ends of the old bushing meet at the top. Maybe it's just the driver side bushing I got that was designed like this.

P/S: Old driver side bushing is as soft as tofu. Passenger side bushing is still ok. I went out for a short drive just now and the alignment seems to be unaffected.
