The polish done by paint shop and car detailing shop is very different.

Car paint shop job is more expensive. The procedure includes taking down the headlamp, sandpaper them, then reapply lacquer. It's usually done on traded in cars to make them look like new ones before sold by secondhanded car dealers.

Detailing shop just polish them using their polish paste. Small difference before and after and it'll blur back fast. Cheaper though.

fuiyoo, RM350 to respray headlamp?
I thought last time i saw Mudah new OEM headlamp only RM120-150/pc, might as well buy 2 pcs @ RM300 max...

btw, i respray the headlamp myself, RM6.90 for clear lacquer, lasted 2 years already. only polished twice in between. Now starting to yellowing a bit due to non-UV protective lacquer used. Can respray again but nowadays I'm lazy.

Hello... I am using Proton Persona 2008 Dec, Now my engine sometimes come up with white smoke and smell something burned... I think engine oil leaking. How to solve and Usually how much need to spent? and Another issue have sound tok tok tok when engine idle.. what is it? Do I need to concern? What to repair.

Any advice or tip are highly appreciate. Thank you

Hi every1, Im from South Africa where there is no Proton  support.So my 2012 Persona A/T wouldnt start one day, checked fuses,relays, keys, all fine. mechanic says new crank sensor needed, changed it. DTC shows Map sensor, changed Map sensor, still no change. Now DTC shows Cam sensor but sensor is fine after testing it. Problem is no spark so Im tracing the fault wire from coil backwards, now need to remove dash but taken all screws and bolts that I can see but dash is still sitting tight,can anyone guide me please

Hi guys. My car have just clocked 100k and recently my persona have a few odd sounds from the engine bay.

Below are the 2 description of the sound.

1. When hard accelerate and revving the engine, during 70-80 km/h u can here "clonk-clonk-clonk sound". After that it will be fine. No such sounds during high speed run or smooth highway run.

2. I just done adding new grounding cable to my persona. After that when engine is stop and idle, and air-conditioning is switch off, u can hear clearly the soft background sound of "rrrrrrrrrrrrr" from the engine. This will happen regardless of cold start or when the engine is hot. You can still hear it when the aircond is on but much less due to the loud aircond noise. If the car is moving u can't hear the noise anymore.

So far there are no visible performance loss from this sounds. But I am a bit worried about the long term impact for it.

Currently using Shell / BHP Ron 95.

Do you guys have any experience on this?

I take to COSE Proton service centre diagnose and they claim to be IAFM module faulty.
New 1 change will cost rm 7xx 

I googled around it seems there is 3 common sound from our Campro IAFM

1. IAFM famous 'tak tak tak' (Mine doesn't sound like this and is not so loud.)
2. Hydraulic valve lifter (Tappet) / Shim Lifter sound
3. Canister purge valve

I guess mine probably will be 2nd or 3rd? 
Will have to take go Zordaq check this weekend.

when changing timing belt, what do SC recommend changing together? water pump, fan belt, belt tensioner and what else?

now noticed that my alternator battery charging voltage (usb charger function) goes low when I on everything (aircond, dash cam, lights radio etc). Battery guy asked me to change the belts.

I have a Persona Elegance 2010 full spec.

Just wondering, anyone know any Proton Persona electronics repair expert?

Some minor annoying issues, all happen together (short circuit suspected, all connected)

1. Main cluster no longer dims when headlights are on (too bright at night).
2. No more beep warning when headlights on, keys out.
3. Switch for front fog lamp not working, but hazard lights & demister still working.
4. Gear panel & aircon no more lights when headlights are on.

Another question: Does Proton service center repair electronics on older cars like mine?

So SC does tend to older cars? What about accessories shop though, do they have expertise to fix problems like these?

Hmmm I just change to new belt tensioner too when changing timing belt.

Is your grounding cable connected to alternator too?
Zordaq identified the "rrrrrrrrr" sound is from my alternator.
I see. Luckily they mention is not IAFM problem yet. Still can use somemore.

Ah I see. Same as mine then.
Planning to find my seller this weekend or next week, to change the GC to another place.
That day when we test after I remove the GC from the alternator, the sound disappeared.

hi guys, recently my persona had a leak on the oil pan. I went through workshop they found a crack underneath of the oil pan. Now that part is been glued.

Would like to know can this oil pan be welded? If not, what would be a reasonable price for an oil pan replacement? I ask 2 workshop, 1 quote me for almost 1k while another quote me less than RM500 included labor.
