Thanks for your advise too, If I am upgrading the crankset, do you think those 2X speed crankset would able to fit into my foldie? Like those 52 & 38 together one.

Thanks.

My java fit is mod to 2×10 with ultegra and 105 part, my mod parts cost more than the price of my bike.

Depends in what u want when u mod and if u are willing to spend or not

As always I knew I could rely on you, Master Wong for sound advice!  rclxms.gif Thanks again (you've advised me before many times in the past)

Yes you're right we are still using the original Link seatpost from the 2013 model.

A non quick release seat clamp is too much trouble cause we gotta bring it up and down all the time when folding/unfolding.
I guess that leaves me with two choices : To get a new seatpost or to sandpaper the thing down.

New seatpost sounds tempting though (excuse for gear acquisition lol!). My only worry is the rider weight limit of 80 kg for the Litepro posts. Although she's below 80 kg (but above 70 kg), any issues with stability?
I do like the fact there are markers on the Lite pro posts!

I change to litepro seatpost due to stock seatpost is not long enough for me, i am 84kg and so far its working fine, i ride about 60-80km a week. Another friend of mine is also using the same seatpost and he is 86kg, the seatpost still ok

Bro, better upgrade to 10 speed terus! I got quoted rm590 9 speed and rm610 for 10 speed..(cassette,deore rd, deore shifters, chains, installation and tuning)..since it was only rm30 in difference, it was really an easy decision!..

Fd bracket is only rm50.
Claris fd can use back.

If you want to maintain using 9 speed, that your budget is much cheaper.

I'm still using my claris fd with my 10 speed mod, works good. My mods cost more than my bike cos i was using mixed ultegra, 105 and tiagra parts only the fd was stock

even my old stock prowheel 50-34 is already freewheeling on a 451 wheelset. i can't imagine if it's 44T. even right now, Im thinking of upgrading the 53t chainrings to a 55 or 56 or something..a 53T seems to be good enough on a 406, but in my views, a 451 probably needs a bigger chainring.

I'm using a 55/46 prowheel crankset, wheels is 406. It feels abit heavy at first but after some time it just feel nice. Its like riding a bigger wheel bike

For 50/34 i find it not suitable for a 20" wheel bike, bigger wheels feel much better. My roadie is using 50/34 and it feel just nice

No, that means now I won't be changing to v brake because of the recently bought rims. So have to find other alternatives e.g. hydraulic brakes.

Did u check the caliper position?

Sometimes misaligned caliper can cause sound too, mine use to got sound but after google on it and realign the caliper now its working good without any sound

Thanks for your inputs guys..

Yes, the current setup feels too light (53t on a 406)..during tonight weekly ride, i test ride a few bikes, actually from my circles of friends. (doppelganger, brommie, and a few others)..among that i tested was a minivelo with a 56-46t on a 451..to my surprise, it's not heavy to pedal, as i previously assume..probably i dont face major problems from pedalling it..so now, thinking maybe should just put a 56-46t too on my dahon.

The thoughts of double chainring is, i know for my current usage, 8 speed is enough..saying that, i haven't climb any of those long stretching uphill yet, sucb as fraser. So i would probably need it then.

The truth is, im getting more pening as the minutes goes by..few questions plays with head..like, should i just change to 56t single chainring hollowtech crankset? Or do double chainring with 56-46 crankset?..or should i just change the whole groupset? All this of indecisive thoughts really puts me in dilemma.

Or probably i just halt the plan for now, be calm, and think it over and  again. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

i had 56/46T crankset with 10s 11-28T on my foldie, it gives me the feeling like i am riding a bigger wheel bike
