Hi all, I'm looking into buying a folding bike for leisure riding. I've been eyeing on the dahon models but unfortunately there isn't any sold in Sabah.
I went to a few shops and they only had:
TRS buddy system
BTWin Hoptown320
I see that usjcycles sells Dahon SUV and offers shipping service.

Any advice for someone with a budget of around 1k?

Thanks for the advice!
Contacted him today and he listed out a lot at that price range:

Geometric windspeed 8speed
HTG alloy sport rim with disc brake
Amis FAC 2.1
Java TT
Speed gear aries
Dahon SUV

Now being the beginner that I am, I have no idea which one I should opt for, especially since I don't get to check the bikes out.

Also, my concerns I have for buying online is the after sales service. For example, am I able to do maintenance on my own? Do I need to buy any spare parts? as I haven't owned a bike before.

Thanks haha! Guess I'm thinking too much as if it were a car.
I've been only riding free rental bikes before so I hadn't had to worry about these things.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Dahon suv and probably Java TT.

Appreciate all the help!

After reading around, I've decided that a simpler bike would be more suited for me as a beginner as there will be less things to take care of. Also they're cheaper biggrin.gif

I also realized that I've been riding on a single speed before this and had no problems, so any bike listed should be an upgrade. I'm not in a rush.

I really like the design of the dahon although it's on the heavy side.
Before I get the bike, should I also consider any accessories to go with it? Is there any special care for the steel frame to prevent rusting?
