Brand new Tern Verge N8 for RM3250 and Dahon Boardwalk for RM1840 considered cheap and the specs worth the money? Sorry I really dunno much bout bike and all so need pointers from sifu here. Can these 2 models do touring as well? Tempted with either brompton or Tern Verge S27H but the prices totally overkill my budget.

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Jul 21 2016, 08:08 PM) u comparing some different league. verge are top range for 20" foldie and for dahon u can compare to mu siries bike and not the boadwalk. i do know that tern bundle with better component than dahon but i dont know why tern price now days very expensive. for me parts u can upgrade later as long as u have a good frame. both are good bikes if u ask me, but if i were u i will go for boadwalk rather than verge n8 within ur budget. oh ya, i bought my verge used for only rm2.5k bcoz i fell in love with that type of frame after scouting dahon vector that didnt exist anymore! nah...not comparing those 2, rather the price i got offered for those 2 bikes, i have no idea if both bikes actually worth the amount i got offered. Oh yea and a friend of mine told me NOT to get 7 speed but 8 speed and above bikes so it won't cost alot more if i plan to upgrade it to higher speed hence i increased my budget a little. I think within my budget I can go for either Vitesse D8 or Boardwalk D8 if both are able to be upgraded to higher gears without changing lotsa parts unless any sifu here able to help me with other better bikes which is within the price range.

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Jul 22 2016, 09:48 AM) vittese or boadwalk also good frame. but do remember the vittese is aluminium, and boadwalk are chromoly. both different material and both different feel. chromoly are heavy a bit but comfort on a ride and aluminium are lighter but a bit harsh.. and u were right, better get 8speed and above coz 8speed using a freehub and not freewheel. freehub got many option for upgrade! Awesome! Definitely gonna get 8 speed bike for sure. Dunno much bout the material used for those frames, but will Boardwalk or Vitesse able to handle around 60km tour and a little hill climbing? Somehow I'm leaning more towards Boardwalk due to the looks rather and since u mentioned it provides more comfy ride due to the material =P. Only thing I'm worry now is that both Boardwalk and Vitesse unable to handle long distance rides.

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Jul 23 2016, 08:19 AM) if u bought dahon/tern, both gives u confident more than 100km. i didnt say other brand no good but in folding bike (just focus what bike u want), besides gearing the most important parts is the hinge/joint. just check often and tighten when necessary.. worry less, travel more.. i also owned dahon speed p8 purposely for touring with bigger tyres, racks and so on.and yes, all my bike i had mod the gearing to suite my purpose..i also had many friends using trinx to travel far more than 60km.. Noted. Thanx so much for the info!!
