Modification won't happen very soon.
For now, need to setup/fit the bike 1st. Next is to kayoh more and shed off significant amount of lard from my middle section, find out what chainring and cog size I need, season my rear end to the saddle… I am glad to start cycling again, silently moving across space with air in the hair… It felt wonderful… This post has been edited by KenC: Aug 6 2016, 01:33 AM |

no worries, loosing weight is the cover…
maybe ppl fail to loose weight because they keep spending to lighten the bike. I will do the opposite by making my bike unbearably heavy… use the highest roll resistance tire, fill the tube with lead and transport palm fruit bunches… http://www.active.com/articles/8-tips-to-l...ht-from-cycling no harm trying This post has been edited by KenC: Aug 6 2016, 02:30 AM |

QUOTE(KenC @ Aug 5 2016, 11:54 PM) welding/ brazing may be common (not sure if gluing is a good idea though)...but still, there many types and grades of steel. btw, i tot you were describing my appearance earlier. and yes, i recently (very) bought a foldie... to get some exercise. QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 6 2016, 12:09 AM) I agree, but that means the bike will remain for show only. Not much fun going longer distances. Some japanese owners do it rather well, upgrading the bike with modern bits and larger 349 wheels and tyres. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 4 2016, 09:24 AM) Actually Pedalspot's prices are always higher when they take over a product rights. Look at Rockshox nowadays. Anyway, Brompton's prices were very hard hit by our currency's slide. They started with 5.8K if I am not mistaken and now it is in the 7K region for the 6 speed. If you are really interested, there are 4 more units here in Taiping from the 1st batch. Initially the minimum order was 10, so I guess the shop sold 6 already and really trying to get rid of the other 4. When I moved here, I had the chance to actually buy 2 (EPF withdrawal) and the boss says he can give me a very good price (old price) and my guess was less than 12K for 2 bikes but he did not want to confirm till I actually wanted. BossSo, I was sleepless for a few nights, whether to get it or not. Then I decided to get another mini velo to complement the other that my wife rides, which is more practical to me as I don't need to commute anywhere and I can fit in either 2 mountain bikes or 2 mini velos into my car easily (without any racks) . KTMB Komuter here allows bikes for an extra RM2.00 per bike (full size) so Brompton doesn't not make sense to my needs. The mini velo (modified with straight bar) are much more agile, lighter, faster, wider gear range. more comfort (chromoly) and most of all it cost less than a Brompton even with a 20 speed Ultegra groupset. That's why I skipped the Brompton which I have been pondering on since my Dahon days. But if you are really interested, head here to Taiping, only 4 left! Maybe slightly less than 6K,brand new! 2 black edition (racing green and lagoon blue) and black and the final one red. Care to let me know which shop ipoh is this? maybe i can give them a call? |

QUOTE(tina_tan @ Aug 6 2016, 05:13 PM) If the most you can do is calling them , you will be quoted the current price. The boss needs to see your intention if you actually have the intention to buy. PS/ You didn't even understand fully my comment! I mentioned Taiping NOT Ipoh! This post has been edited by etigge: Aug 6 2016, 07:20 PM |
