Aluminium forks cannot be cold set. You'll need to re-lace the wheel to a 74mm hub....but looks like your rim is either 32h or 36h, which I doubt you'd find a hub to match. No worth risking your face hitting the road at speed....

QUOTE(mizi28 @ Aug 2 2017, 12:34 AM) Waw..mine should have use v brake also.heartache wo drill here n there. You drilled? If a frame has not been built for caliper brakes, it usually means the mounting brace may not be strong enough. V-brakes are more than fine.

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Aug 4 2017, 05:07 PM) do remember the frame wont accept any fd unless u custom made it under the seatclamp. my friend build the bike with sram dual drive hub and it gets enough gearing to conquer any road. weight?dont ask, the hub itself already heavy! Don't be afraid to try the SRAM dual drive unit. The gears changes beautifully, much better than FD. Yes, it is slightly heavier, but you have so many gears to choose from! I believe SRAM will stop production of all its hub gears which is a shame. This and the Imotion3 are my favourites. My Bike Friday Tikit... QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 14 2017, 01:31 AM) I think you should get the same bike for your fiance as well. The XDS FA16 is a good choice. The picture here, is a retired teacher who has been riding hers since 2013 and she's still riding it. Only problem is after you improve on your stamina and skills, the gear ratio is not high enough when you want to go faster. Reason is, on 7 speeds, the smallest cog on the rear is 14 teeths and when ride fast, you will be free wheeling. It's good enough for commuting though. The one in the picture has been modified by me to 8 speed with 11/32T cassette at the rear for better long distance riding.
The folded size is small enough to actually fit into the IKEA Dimpa bag as you can see in the pictures. The Bromptons also is about the size but the Bromptons' wheel are an inch bigger in diameter. Good advice sifu. Dont be too cheap and end up with something you dont enjoy riding, cant sell. End up being more expensive anyway. Go test some mid range bikes then some cheap ones. If you cant tell the difference, you buy the cheap ones, lol

QUOTE(KenC @ Aug 15 2017, 10:43 PM) But if after 1 ride and found cycling is stupid… cheap bike and expensive bike are all junk bike... Yes, this happens most of the time. Throw away a 500buck bike, you loose 500 Sell away an expensive bike you loose 500 too + the hassle of selling… From experience a more expensive bike is always nicer to ride, and from experience buying an expensive (second hand) bike, I have never lost money.
