All Brompton needs to do is to re-engineer their rear triangle to the normal 130-135mm.  Then, we will be able to fit more gears etc, and it will be hard to beat.

At present, no one can better the fold, but just about any bike will beat it in terms of rideability.

"GAYA" comes with special price tag  hmm.gif
ur refering to fgc1609 i think. the model chromoly without kick stand for 16. and those frame cant fit fd for double chainring. a bit pricey and heavy compare to zephyr. my friend using and couple it with sram dual drive+349 wheels.. really cool and can beat brommy wooo.. cool2.gif

if u dont want to pening, get fnhon ka1618 (zephyr)
its a good frame and total weight after build below 10kg, but like etigge said, no gaya lah laugh.gif

Yes can't fit a FD but that's fine for me. As the main purpose will be multimodal transportation commuting. A wide range ratio cassette should be good enough for me to tackle most of the hills at klang valley.

This is the one. The model still available from Taobao. The lady owner rode many long journeys with me. Even once the epic Kampar to Sitiawan and back (first day with 26 kilometer of plantation offroads) . Totalling 200 kilometers for 2 days. This is the comparison between my Dahon Speed with the FnHon when folded. That was 3 to 4 years ago and that time after assembling the total cost was about 3K.
Frame and fork FnHon, Dahon handlepost,  Shimano Tiagra shifters,RD,FD and chain. FSA crank, Shimano Deore brake levers and calipers, LitePro rims, seatpost ,FD adapter, seat post clamp, Novatec hubs, Kenda tires, Propalm grips, Jagwire cables and housing, Suntour pedals (broke after 2 rides then changed to Wellgo )

Oooo! That's going to cost a bomb. I think any courier with an operation in Malaysia will be able to do the job. ABX seems to be cheaper. They have to send to KL hub first and then a second journey to Sarawak. Hope this helps.

Ok, thanks sifu.

I'll look into it. Might be rm300-400. Easier for owner to come pick it up. Haha

My friend sent his old mountain bike to Sabah for RM230 using "Nationwide". It's charges are based on weight whereas Pos laju and City link are based on weight and volume. Pos laju and City link quoted RM600-700. You need to send your bicycle in a box to "Nationwide" office.

Hope this will help.

Brompton Wei! 230 is too cheapskate, 600-700 is more befitting. tongue.gif

I once sold a vacuum cleaner to a buyer in Sarawak. I sent the package through Poslaju ( which is one of the most expensive courier in Malaysia ) and the charge for the parcel which is slightly off and weighs less than 10 kilos is RM70. Probably the charge will be around there if you are sending a Brompton. Maybe you can visit Pedalsport and try to find a box, just tell them you bought it 2 years ago and didn't get the box then. Probably the charge might double but that's RM140 only. thumbup.gif
