Hi all, while chit chatting with my aunty colleagues at work came across this question:

- Chinese Wedding Dinner

- Inviting 1 table of dad's Muslim Dato/Datin friends

Wanna know if it's ok if we raise our glass toast yam seng? (should say "cheers" instead ??)

office aunty says cannot.. cos not respect their religion ?

so.. I cannot serve alcohol at my wedding ? shocking.gif

no issue at all. You can continue yam sheng & serve bir. But ensure the Muslim friend is at the separate table on their own.

Normally they will not eat anything or drink anything even you special order the vegetarian coz the restaurant is not halal mah. But at least a mineral water bottle or coke....etc. They came here to show respect to your wedding invitation & enjoy the time with you.

I have encounter so many of it.

Usually we will ask the clients to prepare a malay catering just for them. By doing this, we will show them some respects. And they can toast along with the juices. No problem at all. biggrin.gif
