Just minor upgrades here and there.
Just for the sake of making it a better buy than Meizu Metal.

Should just call it Redmi Note 2 Pro as rumored earlier.

at least got finger scanner plus metal body which way nicer than redmi note 2  icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

there's a reason why I put "upgrades"
of course it would be nicer than RN2, otherwise no point selling it.

Just the name of the device doesn't seem to fit in.. Should be RN2 Pro or Plus instead.

Yeah, 4k mah battery is definitely a good addition rclxms.gif
I saw users complaining weak battery life on RN2.

It seems Helio X10 is not power efficient?
Even Meizu MX5 has average battery life.
Nowhere near to MX4.

Don't forget that MX5 battery life is still way batter than Redmi Note 2.

Yeah, Xiaomi didn't optimize it properly it seems.
The video playback and web browsing endurance test is way below MX5.
Sad to see, was expecting more from that ample battery capacity.

would u guys think that Redmi Note 3 is a good upgrade from Mi3?

seems to be an upgrade in terms of dual sim, bigger battery, bigger screen, fingerprint sensor, extra 1gb RAM, extra 16gb internal.

but still have doubt over the Mediatek Helios x10 processor. hmm.gif
*
Helio X10 performs closely with Snapdragon 801 but the GPU is still a few fps slower than Adreno 330 but not by huge margin. I tested Helio X10 myself and it was great and fluid experience.. I can't tell speed difference between both. Battery consumption and GPS is good too.

If you really skeptical with Mediatek, just better off with Mi4C.
Snapdragon 808.

Damn this phone is very tempting. Still contemplating between rn3 and mi4c.
Which one u guys prefer better? Coming from lg g2 here
*
Mi4C is better in every aspect except RN3 has metal body and bigger battery capacity.

- Much better display (1 : 1600 contrast ratio brows.gif )
- Better performance and more power efficient than Helio X10. Cortex A57 (Snapdragon 808) > Cortex A53 (Helio x10)
- Better at graphically heavy tasks. Adreno 418 > Power VR6200. VR6200 is about the same as G2 (Adreno 330)
- Better camera...Mi4C is the first to use the recently announced Sony Exmor RS IMX258 with phase detection focus and 192 focus point.

Redmi devices never had Sony sensors for camera if not mistaken. Most of them using less capable Samsung BSI sensor to cut cost and to separate with Mi flagship series.

If you don't need big screen and don't fancy all metal design, Mi4C is the better phone overall.

the flash looks very well balanced between too cool and warm. It's natural.
dual-tone flash is doing a pretty good job in new xiaomi devices.

Yellowish flash is like Mi4's single flash. You go see in MIUI forums how bad is the flash.
Super yellowish and washed out. It's pretty close to unusable even with Qualcomm Chroma flash feature.

Check here http://en.miui.com/thread-109907-1-1.html
You'll appreciate your dual-tone flash after you see this.

The GPU is indeed not well optimized. It's well known.

PowerVR G6200. Meizu MX4 also had the same graphical issue.

I've just noticed something, the camera doesn't have macro/close-up mode?
*
automatically triggers when you're trying to take close up pics.

Ever since MIUI 6, the macro mode has been removed to improve ease of using.

If that's the case then it didn't work too well for me just now. Nvm, I'll try again under better lighting.

yea not all xiaomi smartphone has decent macro
I also kinda disappointed with my Mi Note in this regard.
