Short review of Redmi Note 3

user posted image

Pros

  • Solid build. Beautiful device.
  • Awesome high quality screen.
  • Extremely smooth, no issue in daily operation.
  • 4G is support, no issue on my Maxis line.
  • No issue on normal casual gaming which not 3D graphics intensive.
  • Plenty of nice themes!
  • Camera is good.
Cons:

  • Since this is China set, kind of a lot junk notification, need disable one by one from different apps.
  • The Helio x10 GPU is still not powerful enough, can't even proper playback of Temple Run 2 even in setting of middle quality graphics only.
  • Stupid download size limit still there! Waste my whole night searching for it.

I won't put performance mode as that is whole cores always in full run. This is not the way a phone shall react. It eat battery and heat.

Yeahh. Just switch the cpu to performance mode if you want to play games. It is just not fair if we judge it by not using full cores cpu capabilities when it comes to playing games I think. No offence, just my own opinion. He he

By the way I just turn on performance mode. They is no much differences on that where Temple Run 2 still basically unplayable.

For similar games like Subway Surfer is playable with only slightly pause sometimes.

I played couple of games on RN2, also have similar problem. Some games also suffered black screen during gameplay, not in the menu. Possibly the GPU is poorly optimized I guess?

actually it's not that the X10 can't perform... it's just app + chipset optimization sux real bad in android development because of fragmentation (device diversity) some developers simply can't bother to optimize each and every device that came out in the market every month. Some do and their games runs super smooth even on older devices...

The GPU is indeed not well optimized. It's well known.

PowerVR G6200. Meizu MX4 also had the same graphical issue.

Forgot mention in my short review.

The Redmi Note 3 finger print sensor is freaking awesome!

It is 100% accuracy to me. Far ahead better than Note5 which give me around 90% accuracy only.
