QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 6 2006, 01:50 PM) It's a good time to play AC Milan. They have been leaking goals of late. With an ageing defence, they'll find it hard to cope against quick forwards. i agree....and madrid are playing effective football. i am not sure if chelsea vs madrid is a classic to be. both seem to be safety first. could be 0-0 draw till penalty shootout...barce arsenal may give me heart attack... |

well Lyon have already won the French Ligue 1 imo la...(not mathematically)
so they can rotate more and still win....but imo...should they face chelsea, they are finished. literally finished. i can picture it in my head already. so i dont think Lyon will win it. Lyon, like AC Milan are kinda dependant on their Brazillian(s) to perform. As for Liverpool? I am bias la but I frankly dont see Barca losing. Yes they arent playing well now but once Eto'o and Messi comes back, i really see them back to their best. I wouldnt be suprised if we have an All Spanish Final. For me, Valencia, Barca, Madrid (with their fresh faces) and Chelsea are in pole position. |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 20 2006, 10:59 AM) Perhaps but Hyypia, Agger and Carra have been in supreme form of late so there's not better time for us to meet them. Xabi and Momo will be key players just as Hamann was in protecting our back four against AC Milan. IT WASNT UDAY JOSHI ON FOOTBALL FOCUS LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched yesterdays edition of Football Focus and both Steve McMahon and Paul Masefield feel that Liverpool have a good chance especially since Rafa does have a good record at the Nou Camp. That **** Shebbie predictably wrote off Liverpool completely along with Uday Joshi whom I like as a host but do not respect as a pundit. As we have 2 years ago and more recently Nacional have shown, Barcelona can get frustrated if you can contain them. anyway as for liv vs barca....hyypia and carra could be in supreme form but they dont face players like messi, eto'o (if fit) and ronaldinho everyday in the EPL imo and the pace and trickery brought by this three is actually scary. especially when we havent thought how rafa will play gerrard when sissoko comes back. ppl doubt barca everyday simply because they are skillful and talented and that they cant play a physical game but we played physical against breman didnt we? |

QUOTE(verx @ Dec 22 2006, 04:10 PM) IMO hyppia and carra are good with aerial threats but when the ball is played on the ground with pace they will struggle for example like when Liv faced Arsenal. Do i see Liverpool pulling off an Internacional? It's possible but if u actually watched that match their fullbacks were tremendous in that game. Can Finnan emulate it when marking Ronaldinho? I have my doubts. But there's no point arguing now as there is still a long time before the match and the form of both teams will most probably be very different come February. well there are so many factors why Barcelona lost the match against International but anyway let's not talk about that. I still feel it was one of those games where a BIG team would just have to lose one of these days, rather sooner or later. Ronnie wanted to showboat that match but against Liverpool, team comes first but in a two legged tie, i dont see how liverpool can pull of the "one offs" anymore. Against Chelsea of the past for example, Chelsea maybe couldnt pull of some individual brilliance but now, every once in a while, Drogba comes up with Goal of the Season candidate (he has five stunners if i could keep track). But face them now, I believe Chelsea will win. Similiarly against Barce, we aren't in top form now but we still can grind out the results against teams. Teams seem to think, man-mark Ronaldinho and pray that Deco, Guily and Xavi wont win the match but by then, I think Eto'o would most certainly be back and Messi has a good chance to play then, so I am quite optimistic about our chances. I dont think one team could entirely man mark the entire opposition! As good as guddy is, i still feel Eto'o brings something extra as he uses pace to create space.and duke red, u are in form now but come Feburary? We arent in form now either so its a long way away. QUOTE(Acey @ Mar 11 2007, 02:06 AM) I'm looking forward to watch MU vs Roma.. both teams have heavy firepower this season... have faith in Obi Wan, my padowan (it rhymes Chelsea vs Valencia... if Obi Mikel plays, I think the repetition of Valencia-Inter brawl will most likely happen again. Liverpool vs PSV... this should be interesting to see if PSV can stand and return Liverpool's raids as both teams are equally strong. Milan-Bayern... I'm gonna doze off anyway nah, no team will be that daft to get involved in two brawls in such a short period of time |

QUOTE(verx @ Apr 25 2007, 04:49 PM) So why are so many Man Utd fans counting their chickens before they hatch? if we cant at least get a draw at milan, we dont deeserve to be in the final. Some are so convinced they will make it to the final already If I were them I would be worried i mean, if we had to win 2-0 at the san siro, yes, we might as well have aimed for the double Added on April 25, 2007, 5:35 pmand we'll have gary neville back for the second leg, so confidence is high This post has been edited by kobe8byrant: Apr 25 2007, 05:35 PM |

QUOTE(Soulsareworthless @ Apr 25 2007, 07:30 PM) We didn't count our chickens before they hatched unlike you people. MU is no where the technical superiority of Milan. They were chasing shadows when Gattuso was on the pitch. dude, injuries happen la ok...deal with them. i mean, we were without 3 out of our 4 main defenders and we didnt have one of our strikers. we dont moan or cry. we took the game to milan. milan without gattuso? boo hoo..its not our fault is it |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Apr 26 2007, 11:00 AM) Rafa assumed that Chelsea would come pouring forward leaving enough space at the back for Bellamy to exploit. Didn't happen, did it? Bellamy was a non-factor. wonder why didnt zenden come off and bellamy switch to the wings? and gerrard on the right again? Don't be sorry, I've always though Zenden was crap especially on the wings. Not only does he not have pace, he doesn't have the skill to pass defenders. He plays better in the middle and that isn't saying much either. but did mourinho get into benitez' head. i thought away from home, benitez would have settled with a 0-0 instead of going forwards.. Added on April 26, 2007, 2:54 pm QUOTE(malayneum @ Apr 26 2007, 10:55 AM) if 2 english teams are in the final, it would be because they have been the better teams throughout, dont u think that will be even more mouth watering.....and isnt that what we want? the 2 best teamsThis post has been edited by kobe8byrant: Apr 26 2007, 02:54 PM |

QUOTE(air_mood @ Apr 26 2007, 02:56 PM) the thing is, newcastle with emre and butt in the centre and proper width limited chelski at SJP. with gerrard supposedly playing on the right, u dont have proper width as he tends to drift inside anyways i.e. fletcher for us when he plays on the right. playing your best player out of position wont help, too much of an important game for him to be played out of position. put him where he does damage most, thru the middle where he can actually orchestrate play. put garcia, pennant or whoever it is on the right and give him strict instructions to protect finnan against joe cole. that's what sir alex did with ronaldo against roma. he came back a lot to help o'shea aginst mancini. finnan didnt play....alberdoa or whatever his name is..neck injury..but yeah, gerrard on the right |

QUOTE(verx @ May 3 2007, 04:15 PM) I really don't think it's his fault. The Champions League is a very tricky one to win. And i don't think his squad is really good enough to win it despite what ppl say about how much Chelsea have spent. Good enough to grind out results in the league maybe but the CL is another kettle of fish. care to explain more on that. i mean even with injuries, they have good back ups. of course whether the back ups perform is another matter but on paper, i would think that chelsea are good enough to contest for it |

We can afford to lose both games against them. We can still get 10 points from the other 4 games to qualify
And I would like Roma to draw a few games so we can field youngsters in the last two games Added on August 31, 2007, 1:29 amSevilla has advantage. Talent and scoreline This post has been edited by kobe8byrant: Aug 31 2007, 01:29 AM |
