My idle is about 25C-27C in an air cond room. If there's no air cond then 32C-33C.
*
yeah, me got 29/30C idle and 43/44C load running at 2.9Ghz, also result after lapping...
also agreed with bro clawhammer, lapping is more of interest thumbup.gif eventhough only reduce 2-3C, but satisfied lor, result of our own effort thumbup.gif
currently using 'cap ayam' thermalpaste, plan to get Tuniq-TX2 after this, maybe can reduce more temp biggrin.gif

OMG I'm happy to hear so.Wanna know more bout lapping now.BTW ur casing is closed or open?
*
what do u mean by closed or openend casing? hmm.gif my casing originally just normal old style casing, i modded its top and side panel by putting acrylic and fan (12cm on side panel as blow in and 8cm on top as blow out, in addition to 8cm blow-out fan at the rear, also made another 1 blow in hole at the front with 12cm fan, total 2x 12cm blow-in, 2x 8cm blow-out), so i guess airflow of my casing is at optimum level already...
everything about lapping i learnt from my friend, which he learnt it from IceMocha's thread, managed to make my gemini's base quite shiny, but still not as good as IceMocha's lor tongue.gif

yp skylineGTR, why not get MX-2? Tuniq is better?
*
for real, i dun know lor, never use it before, but some reviews say so coz its water content more than MX-2, can preserve its moisture even after few days use (that's what the reviews say la)...

Oh ok biggrin.gif There's something new which is made from Diamond dust. Those folks in the US already have them. Hopefully someone would bulk it back here.

Fortunately it's not and around the price of AS5. I think they got the dust from those diamond makers because when they cut the diamonds, there'll be dust so they collect them and turn it to thermal compound. Just a guess but I'm really looking forward to it as many people says they give better temps over MX-2 (which is currently the best) biggrin.gif
*
from that reviews, MX-2 is behind TX2 and AS5 la bro, but dun know whether its true or not blush.gif

The original surface is pretty flat so you can start at 800 or 1200 as you like.
Don't be too particular about the mirror finishing as the ultimate objective is to get a flat surface, not to make a mirror. Good luck smile.gif
*
and definitely dont lap the proc, unless the proc is out of warranty or u r very rich and dun mind about the warranty tongue.gif

Top and back fans should always be exhaust (sucking air out) because thats what the rule says smile.gif
*
yeah, agree with u bro, rear and top should always be exhaust, blow-in should be front or side-panel fan....
