To be honest.. if you still like playing your games at something like 800x600 or at most 1024x768 res.. then the 8600GT will be fine.. but only if you promise to keep the AA at either 2x or none.. otherwise this card will just kill your fps.. After using the 8600GT for a month, I found myself changing back to the 7800GTX.. I wanted a 7950GT but the price was still a bit too much for a last gen card, thus the 7800GTX.. and after tweaking it a bit (I have an XFX model) it was quite something.. only problem is, my CPU is bottlenecking my system (X2 4200+ @2.42GHz)

anyway.. here's a screenshot from Colin Mcrae: DiRT (my fav rally game so far).. I've been getting 40-50 fps even at 1024x768res as opposed to 25-28fps with the 8600GT.. and that was at 800x600res.. the framerates do drop when there are many cars on the track..



here's one from the BioShock demo.. I was surprised to see the game was playable at 1024x768 on High settings.. I didnt check the fps rate but it was playable enough for me..



I tried getting a screenshot of ET:Quake Wars, but for some reason the normal PrtScn button didn't produce anything to paste except for a desktop screenshot.. game works fine at 1024x768 with all high settings and 2xAA and 4xAF.. I didn't want to push it because as with all other online FPS, framerate will decide whether you rule, or you suck.. that and your ping rate..
