Guys, can you help me intro a very basic phone that can do apps (facebook, wechat, etc is sufficient) to someone that just needs a short term (smart) phone to use until he decide to get a better one?
Basically that's just it - communication apps like FB and Whatsapp or Skype..

QUOTE(lylee73 @ Jan 9 2017, 10:16 PM) Huawei Y3C Asus Zenfone GO TP Link Neffos Y5L Avvio L660s Alcatel Pixi 4 Anyone of it stands out in term of durability/specs? Pricing wise mostly about the same I see. 300-400 range. Asus looks nice from pictures. Alcatel Pixi looks ok to me. But I don't particularly like the look of TP Link or Huawei.. I'm not sure what is Asus reputation nowadays, is it good? Some of their routers have problems or quality issue when I last heard. This post has been edited by filage: Jan 10 2017, 05:04 PM

Have been looking at TP Link Neffos Y5L, is this decent? How is the battery life? Any lagging?

Guys, is TP-Link Neffos Y5L (circa RM200) , still worth to buy as a secondary phone? I mean in addition to a primary one, maybe make calls and do minor apps usage while charging the main phone. Is this still the best phone in the Rm200 bracket? I know the manufacturing date is slightly outdated now.

Is it still advisable to buy 3g only handphone now with no 4G LTE support?

QUOTE(lylee73 @ Apr 10 2017, 06:44 PM) Not... really. 4G phones are quite common, so it's not a good idea to get a 3G-only handphone. Are all the cellular data works only on 4G? Which means if one use 3G-only, may not be able to use the Internet data from cellular telco.

QUOTE(hammerjit @ Apr 10 2017, 04:39 PM) Need some recommendations 1. Brand: Any 2. Budget: RM300 and below (plus minus the price) 3. Specs: 2gb ram 16 or 32gb space, android 6.0 4. Type/Size: 5 ince above Thanks in advance! Think nothing within this price? Maybe less than 5 inch, 1GB RAM. For those who know, is this still limited to the Pixi 4 and Neffos Y5L? Are they still worth it today? (ie not overly outdated)

QUOTE(lylee73 @ Apr 30 2017, 10:38 AM) Alcatel Pixi 4 (5) would be something that fits into your budget, but if you can spend more, you should get yourself a Xiaomi Redmi 4A. Intend it for rough handling and outdoor use. So I think it could be okay? 8GB ROM for Pixi 4, after having the Android inside, left with 1 or 2 GB free? Intend to use dual sim, so expansion memory is not able to use. Also, does Pixi4 having some jerkiness/lag when the graphics move, like during swiping the menu?

Wanting to get a redmi 5a for backup phone. Between Note 5A vs 5A, which should I get? I like bigger 5.5 inch.
And is not having finger print sensor very annoying to use? I never had a phone no finger print sensor thus far.

Are there anymore 5 inch phones today? For example the Redmi 4X. Is there an update to this Xiaomi phone? Do they still produce 5 inch phones?

QUOTE(df569 @ Apr 27 2021, 12:15 PM) 1. Brand. Any brand. 2. Budget. Below RM2000 3. Specs. Decent camera, I see myself spending the most of my time on Reddit and YouTube, at most 1 or 2 games. 4. Type/Size. No preference. Looking for something to last for around 5 years, currently using a Redmi Note 3 from 2016, almost on its last legs, battery bloated and frequent lags and freezes. Long battery life would be nice, otherwise longevity is my priority. From what I've seen, is the Poco F3 the best for me? Seems like the 8gb version is out of stock everywhere right now... Mine didn't bloat battery but it heats up real fast, do what's wrong. Just flip Insta a bit drains quite a lot power. Still at Miui 8.0.6.0 Android 5.5, but already quite useless to do much. Maybe 1-2 hours use probably drain half or more batt.

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jun 6 2021, 03:13 PM) redmi 9T or narzo 30A or poco M3 or samsung M12? all are approx RM500. point and shoot camera is my priority (actually for my mom, currently using Redmi 4A). what's the default keyboard on realme/narzo phones? gps on mediatek as good as snapdragon now? any ads on the UI? Redmi 4a is the predecessor of Redmi 4x, same form factor right? I love this phone size, suitable for one hand operation. And the battery life of 4x is very very respectable. I am wanting to find another 5 inch phone with superb Battery like 4x. Doesn't matter if its not UHD. Any recommendation?
