1. Brand: Any
2. Budget: Less than RM500. Preferably RM200-300 only.
3. Specs: Must have tethering/hotspot function. Big battery is a plus.
4. Type/Size: Bigger screen size?

Main reason for phone is to tether data to my primary smartphone only and used for calls/sms only.

Well based on your preferences, I guess the best choices for you are

1. OnePlus 3/3T Good battery life, smooth and seamless experience, good camera with OIS(great videos and decent photos) , wide bezels, fingerprint sensor

2. Mi Note 3 Good battery life, smooth and seamless experience, great camera with no OIS(okay videos but great photos), wide bezels, fingerprint sensor

3. Meizu M6 Note Amazing battery life, half smooth with some seams experience, amazing camera with no OIS(okay videos with amazing photos), wide bezels, fingerprint sensor

4. Huawei Nova 2i Okay decent life, half smooth with some Sean's experience, good camera with no OIS(okay videos but good photos), narrow bezels, fingerprint sensor

I wouldn't highly recommend the following for you but you can consider
1. Mi A1
2. Nubia Z17 Mini
3. Honor 7X
4. Oppo F5
5. Meizu Pro 7
6. Elephone U Pro(I have trust issues with this company)

Hey thanks for your input! Really wished for the Oneplus 3/3T but it's out of my budget as of now hahaha.

Might consider the Mi Note 3 but it seems that the official Xiaomi store doesn't sell that unit. I'm actually surprised that you only include Mi A1 in the alternative list. I thought it was quite good, and cheap tongue.gif. Maybe I was wrong hahaha.

Add in Xiaomi Redmi 5s Plus with 18:9 screen, Nokia 6, HTC U Ultra (2017 flagship phone but cut down to RM13XX)

ASoulNamedLeo I might want to get a OP3T for my gf, any info where's the cheapest I could get it for?
