Guys, finding phone for my mom. Her mate 20 pro charging port got issue and used for 5 years. Wanna get something new.

Budget 1.8k +- and looking for 120hz + ok camera.

1. Brand: Poco F5 (?)
2. Budget: below 1.5k
3. Specs : Prefer good screen and processor, longevity too
4. Type/Size: One hand can hold ok dah, my hand not so big too sad. ( at least can full cover logitech g304 mouse )

Kid you not, still using samseng A7 2017 have to swap just because bank apps x support old devices anymore.
Not sure what phone or brand as long its Android so need recommendation, light usage like discord and browsin.

PS: I own an OnePlus 8T, it was an amazing phone but it has green/pink line display issue. I'm made aware that it's Samsung's fault since OnePlus sources display from them. That said, I'm still open to OnePlus if the display issue is rectified.

I migrated my ancient Galaxy Note 10+ last week with an used Nothing Phone (1) and wow. Less bloatware and very smooth and speedy.

Since the Note 10+ has good specs like 12/256, I repurposed it for gaming. Hook up Dex and gaming on a large screen monitor.

Meanwhile, might even look for another Nothing phone to replace the Galaxy A72 work phone too. Heard Nothing Phone (2A) will be launching soon.

Feel free to recommend a new phone as my Google Pixel 4a battery is acting up for some time. Thanks!

3. Specs - must have good battery life & storage, dual sim, NFC, no gaming, mostly Youtube, music, and google maps.
4. Type/Size - not prefer too large as currently used to 5.8" screen, pocket size.

currently using Pixel 4a, everything is good except the battery got problem. Using bank app will cause battery drops tremendously or sometimes even phone shut down. Once charge it and start the phone it shows 75%.

Has thought of Asus Zenphone 10 but the security updates only 2 yrs so I skipped. Recently came across Pixel 7a & Samsung A54, seem like many good reviews.

Personally likes Realme's feature like splitting app, run background app, 3 fingers screenshot, side swipe to toggle shortcut app, all these are not available in Pixel 4a, not sure how to check all these features in new phone.

I have the same requirements as you. I'm currently looking at Honor 90 and OnePlus Nord 3.

I have phobia with OnePlus, as I bought it and it auto restart within the first few days, so I returned & get refunded.

I have checked GSMArena, it is very unlikely to have new model with less than 6.2" display ><''
so have to say bye bye to pocket sized smart phone..

Looking at Samsung A54, it is so tempting with the pricing..
5000 mAh battery life, 5 yrs security updates, got NFC & supports MicroSD card..

Cons: 25W wired charging seems slow; lousier chipset (Exynos) and it is quite heavy (202g), I may not get used to one handed use..
and it is hybrid dual sim, i need dual sim.. plus not come with charger

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new phone for both my parents, replacing their 4-5 years phones which are starting to get laggy. I'm not so well to do so budget is a bit on the lower side. Their usage of the phones are mainly for calling, whatsapp, fb, youtube and some light games.

I'm looking at a few models, not sure what you all think of them or if there are any other suggestions?

I would go for A05s (RM799) if according to your budget. But it's a LCD panel and may not be good visibility for outdoors.

If you can stretch a little further, A15 5G (RM1199) would be better since there is 5G support plus OLED interface. Both supporting latest Android 14, can go up till Android 18 plus an extra year of security patch.

You can try Nothing Phone (1), it has fancy back-lit on the back phone for notification purposes, and battery life lasts longer than Pixel 7A. But, Pixel 7A camera may be a bit better, especially for Night mode.

Both are easily unlockable bootloaders. You can install custom ROMs when official supports ended, if they're still available.

Then you can go for discounted Samsung A54 5G, currently 3 years OS updates and 4 years of security updates left. Wait for Lazada/Shopee sales and get the price close to your budget. IMO, I don't recommend if it's other than Snapdragon chips, but it can last for 4-5 years after official support ended due to processor's efficiency. Should be enough time usage before getting another new phone in the future (unavoidable hardware upgrades like upcoming mandatory 5G, e-SIM, WiFi 7, etc.).

If you like Xiaomi, you can go for the latest Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, but you'll need to manually debloat the bloatwares. No Xiaomi phones can unlock bootloaders anymore moving forward this year, not so recommended to me.

For Google Pixel phones, you can pick any of the phones within your budget. The only exception is their battery life aren't that long-lasting. No official service centres for Google phones too.

Please recommend me the best camera smartphones under 1k
