I am also thinking of getting a Xiaomi.  Is it true it is preinstall with advertisements?? Can we turn off that function??  Tks.
*
Yes, I have a Mi 10T Pro and the ads can be turned off, takes 10 mins to turn off all ads from apps.

Hi guys, need recommendation to replace my beloved aging Pixel 2XL.

1. Brand: Other than Apple and Huawei, prefer Google ecosystem friendly
2. Cost: Max RM3000, the lesser the better
3. Specs: >6gb RAM, good camera somewhere on Pixel ballpark, wireless charging, battery can last at least 1 day
4. Type/size: <6.5 inch, no curve screen, any color
5. Usage: Reading and scrolling through pages, heavy youtubing, very light gaming, taking pictures

FYI this is not urgent, but I suddenly feeling anxious when my Pixel support ends last month. If any of you sifus can also give me your prediction on the phone price for another 2,3 months, it would be great for my reference.

Thank you in advance!

Hi all sifus, need some recommendation for a new phone for my mom. Requirements as below:

1. Brand: Xiaomi/Redmi. Can recco if Oppo or Vivo is worth trying.
2. Cost: between RM500-800
3. Specs: Big screen, decent camera, very good battery life, smooth UI / as lag-less as possible.
4. Type/size: Anything more than 5 inch.
5. Usage: Phone calls, WhatsApp, emails, snapping pictures for work, video streaming on FB & YT, Waze for work travelling.

My mom is currently using redmi 5 plus and her battery is dying (can’t last half a day). Getting sluggish too.

Being an old lady, big screen and a lag-less phone is very important as she is quite impatient. A simple UI helps too hence I was thinking gettting back Xiaomi / redmi since she’s familiar with it.

Camera can be decent as long as HD enough and colours are good cuz her work need to show colour comparison between fabrics.

Thanks in advance!

I've seen a lot of people saying it's really bad now, not like the old OnePlus, why ah? I mean, I myself am using OnePlus 5, and I am a huge fan! I love it, but it seems like OnePlus is getting all the hate these days, I am curious though...
*
Because they stop to release flagship killer, now they have flagship phones and the prices are not very cheap either. Besides that, now they have more than 2 devices released every year compared to only 1 or 2 before. This makes the security updates to be released slower + the changes of OxygenOS 11 which has a huge overhaul and it is not as clean as the OOS before.

yikes, that sucks then. I heard that OnePlus 9 is just around the corner too, but it's gonna be expensive too, right? Yea, I remember my 1p5 is below rm2k and it was a top phone when it launched.

is Mi 10T a good phone though?
*
In term of performance per price, it is a great phone. But it's using LCD and some people prefer AMOLED for the true black. Maybe you can wait for Mi 11 which comes with SD888 which will be released at the end of this month

Coming from Huawei P9 tongue.gif
1. Brand. -Android
2. Budget. -~2k
3. Specs. Well I guess I am being greedy. I want a LED screen and a good camera. Not sure if I can find something in my budget
4. Type/Size. I would prefer something not that big, but I can live with it. Also prefer with Google Services, which means no new Huawei sad.gif

Any suggestions?

Hiya 👋 also fellow P9 user and feel it's time to change 😅

So have you decided what to get yet?

Personally im eyeing on Oneplus Nord

Hi, I'm looking to buy a phone since my Mi A1 is showing it's age (and having tons of software issues).

1. Brand: Any brand other than huawei/honor (not sure about xiaomi, but can tolerate)
2. Budget: <RM 1.6/1.7K
3. Specs: 90Hz screen would be nice, at least a mid range chip.
4. Type/Size: Gaming, video watching, and browsing. I have big hands so anything is fine. I want to play genshin, fgo, and arknights smoothly at least.

AMOLED is the one used on Samsung phones right?

Yup, heard that Mi 11 Pro will have 2K+120Hz display, but not sure about pricing yet lol.
Correct, Samsung phones use AMOLED screen.
