i need some help. my ipod firmware is corrupted. i tried to format it then reinstall the latest firmware but itunes still says that is it corrupted. i dont know what else i should do.... anyone encounter this problem?? should i just send it over to an apple center and get them to fix it??

try reinstalling itunes. and then redownload the firmware update. if not try to use another computer to restore your ipod. should work.

Try calling the apple help line in malaysia or send to a shop ask for professional opinion,

is it expensive to repair an Ipod? in terms of spare parts, etc

i also encountered the same problem..

what you need to do is restore the ipod to its original settings from itunes...

while restoring halfway,disconnect the ipod (althogh it said do no disconnect) and connect it back again quickly...

you can try this step,if still cant then you have to bring it to apple...

I also faced a problem with ipod nano corrupted. can't even use as a thumbdrive when plugged into a pc without itunes.

in my case, I solved this by plugging into a pc with itunes installed.It detects as corrupted and asks if you want to restore it. There's a restore button at the center of the itunes window. I just clicked this and let it do the job. After that, i reset with pressing middle and top button together.
