Maxis said it could offer customer a promise of 20Mbps of speed 80 per cent of the time, currently double of DiGi's own promised standard of LTE delivery.

Maxis claims that its -98dBM signal is far better than DiGi's -100dBm, even bragging that its speeds would ensure zero lag on YouTube videos flex.gif

Hi all,

I purposely purchased the sim and data pass and test it by one by one from the same device,
My location is PJS 9 Bandar Sunway, below is the speed test result I get under 4G from Maxis, Celcom and Digi:

Maxis: 67.85Mbps Download; 5.55Mbps Upload - Ping 22ms
Celcom: 26.91Mbps Download; 1.49Mbps Upload - Ping 17ms
Digi: 11.77Mbps Download; 3.60Mbps Upload - Ping 25 ms

I wonder why Maxis 4G speed is so much faster than the others.. Like almost 3-6 times faster?  sweat.gif

Note: All tested under prepaid sim, tested by same location and same device

Lowyatrian, welcome to post your speedtest results under 4G network from either Maxis, Celcom or Digi at your area.

Latest update: Maxis now come with LTE Advance / 4G + first in Malaysia  rclxm9.gif

Hi All,

I just managed to contact Maxis customer care and enquiries about this 4G LTE issue, and the Maxis staff advised me that they are on the first phase of launching LTE Advance/ 4G+ at klang valley, and Bandar Sunway is one of the selected location..while the other telco is only offering 4G now. However, it is still under testing period now.

No wonder the speed is so much different ...

Maxis Bhd has confirmed its leadership of the country's 4G connections with its -98dBM signal as a stringent threshold to ensure consistent and reliable indoor and outdoor coverage.

In a statement Friday, it said the -98dBm measurement was equivalent to three or four bars on the phone when outdoors, giving it a more reliable and consistent data experience.

"With this signal strength, customers can expect zero buffering on YouTube 96 per cent of the time, load top webpages in less than eight seconds, 24/7 consistently fast speeds, and stronger signal and widest 4G coverage.

"There is also a common standard measurement for signal strength of -110dBm used by other operators, which is equivalent to two bars on your phone.

"As the mobile signal fluctuates heavily, this means a less reliable, intermittent and poorer data experience outdoors, and an even poorer one indoors," added the operator.

Based on this -98dBm threshold, Maxis' High Performing 4G network reaches 62 per cent of the population.

Currently, there are 2.2 million people enjoying the Internet with Maxis high performing 4G.

Here's a comparison between digi n maxis 4g in KLIA area. I assume most people will be using the airport's wifi, hence the 4g traffic should be negligible.
Tested digi 2x then switched to maxis, result is green powah around double that of yellow.

like maxis said. their speed is double of Digi icon_rolleyes.gif

No matter how fast the speed is, until they give unlimited data usage with no speed capped then cantik.

But I guess wont happen, just my 2cents so testing speed for comparison will have diff result in diff place.

no speed cap?

not gonna happen in Malaysia sad.gif

Maxis? Hell no. I did give it a chance by subscribing the mobile internet once, hoping I could stay connected along the way from Johor Bahru to Batu Pahat. But with disappointment all I get is just GPRS 90% of the time and my 'mobile internet' was not truly mobile.

From that onward I said bye bye to maxis... Charge so much yet the service CMI.

so what line you're using now? hmm.gif
