Hi all,

I purposely purchased the sim and data pass and test it by one by one from the same device,
My location is PJS 9 Bandar Sunway, below is the speed test result I get under 4G from Maxis, Celcom and Digi:

Maxis: 67.85Mbps Download; 5.55Mbps Upload - Ping 22ms
Celcom: 26.91Mbps Download; 1.49Mbps Upload - Ping 17ms
Digi: 11.77Mbps Download; 3.60Mbps Upload - Ping 25 ms

I wonder why Maxis 4G speed is so much faster than the others.. Like almost 3-6 times faster? sweat.gif

Note: All tested under prepaid sim, tested by same location and same device

Lowyatrian, welcome to post your speedtest results under 4G network from either Maxis, Celcom or Digi at your area.

Latest update: Maxis now come with LTE Advance / 4G + first in Malaysia rclxm9.gif

Hi All,

I just managed to contact Maxis customer care and enquiries about this 4G LTE issue, and the Maxis staff advised me that they are on the first phase of launching LTE Advance/ 4G+ at klang valley, and Bandar Sunway is one of the selected location..while the other telco is only offering 4G now. However, it is still under testing period now.

No wonder the speed is so much different ...

Do note that Celcom has lesser ping.
*
But much a very small different right.. biggrin.gif
In term of ping I will say all 3 telco almost similar..

It is not like 40-50 ms Ping compare to 20 ms Ping

I guesss the number of users simultaneously using also matters.
I'm in KLCC and digi can achieve 3-5 Mbps while maxis barely 1 Mbps. Hence i keep my phone on 3g,which is often faster. I suspect a lot of people are already migrated to 4g in this area, leaving 3g more accommodating.

Yup, I think numbers of users could be one of the reason as well..

well, to test my theory has to be another day. right now, too many people have gone home (my office almost empty). due to obama said to be coming this way, my office let people go half day.
will try on Monday.
by the way, how to attach pic from mobile? i can take a screenshot of the test result i did on 20 Oct 2105.

You can print screen, and then click on reply, and you may choose to attach the picture at the bottom smile.gif

Did a few speedtest at pekan kepong with digi server by digi sim. Not lte-A also...

Your Digi LTE is damn fast..
maybe someone from Digi with big position staying around at your area your the Digi network tower is nearby you..

I did a few time speed test again and the speed I manage to get from Digi is all around 10Mbps-15Mbps..

Is good enough to surf but not the best compare to the other..

However, Digi still the best if compare with the price.

Serious question
Does anybody know of any country with telco providing truly unlimited package. I mean, without actual fair usage policy in effect.
When I was in Brunei, I took up an "unlimited" data package with B-mobile. But due to really poor speed, I couldn't effectively test whether it was rudely unlimited (unfortunately I changed my phone, no speed test record remains to show u guys)
*
The situation is almost the same like P1..
they do offer unlimited broadband.. however, the speed is 1Mbps.. and most of the time you will get around 512Kbps speed only..
