Hi,

Last year I had a flaten tyre of Good Year NCT5 (because of tail at Penang temple), then I have to replace 2 pieces of NCT5... But problem begin then... The balancing was hard... I saw lots of those 'balancer' on the rim... Then I sent to the famous Kim Alignment around the Sun... They also fail to balance it... claiming it is a bad tyre..

So my problem now is that... My streeing vibrate at merely 110km... but still slowly dissapear from 140km... It is very disturbing...

And I know now I have 2 choices;

(1) Swap the front tyres with the back... Which might give me up to 140km before experincing unconformable issues.
(2) Change front tyre that cause that stupid problem
(3) Change all 4 tyres la
(4) Upgrade rim and tyres... But economic so bad...

At this moment, I am aiming on Michelin MXV8, but I did not see price on 205/60/R15... which is the size of my new NCT5 last year... I only saw 205/65/R15... So not much differences right? 65 should not doing any harm for conformability, right? My daily drive should be between 110 to 140km only... And conformtability is the most important criteria...

By the way, I saw the price on 205/65/R15 on MXV8 is consider cheap... really less than RM300 each? Any good tyre shops to recommend around PJ area? notworthy.gif

maybe ur problem similar as mine... whistling.gif ...my problem was done alot time of "on wheel balancing", "off wheel balancing"...the problem temprorary solve for few days/weeks...after that steering vibrate again when driving around 120km-150km....after that found out that the tyre out of shape...in order to solve the vibration.., twisting the tyre is done and now alot better....sometimes got vibrate, sometimes not...more to say depends on road conditions...but solve the vibration issue far alot better then last time....if u are temprary out of budget, send to tyre shop and double check if ur tyre is out of shape..if yes, ask them to twist it...definately will reduce the vibration... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Twisted already... also same... consistencely has this problem... I felt irritating and ahshame that Camry Sterring can vibrate at only 110km/h....

So must settle this problem lo... Even it cost some money...

What do you think of I swap the problematic tires to the back?

i'm not sure wat problem that cause ur steering to vibrate even in that speed, if u done on-wheel balancing and alignment, maybe u should check other parts, like steering rack?

my 4 pieces of tyres only hv 1 metal thing attached to it.

Everything done...

Actually I had done my balancing, alignment etc at the famous and expensive Kim Alignment around Sunway already... For 2 times... and still fail. Thier reason is one of the bad tyre...

Any other good tire shop to recommend? Hope around PJ and have lots of Michiline... I am looking forward to MXV8 205/60/R15

How much you bought it? And when?

The current tyre is okay and fine with good thread... just vibrate between 110 to 135km/s. From 140km/s then okay back.

Thanks for everyone... I had just replace 4 tyres of mine into MXV8... Very quiet... And it solve vibrating problem... Today traffic not so smooth... So I only manage to try at 120km/h and no more sterring vibrating... And the tyres chun, clearly better than Good Year NCT5 thumbup.gif

I thought I bought 205/60/15, but I saw the receipt as 205/65/15... So not sure which I bought... I will try to check the tyre tomorror... But I am okay with either of the size.

The price is RM315 at Kin Alignment... But not including basic balancing also... The Balancing is RM30 for 4 tyres. cool2.gif

Hi all, I need your help...

I'm driving a hodna civic 8gen and the car is very noisy cause I'm using goodyear NCT5, my tire profiles are 205/55R16 91V...

So I want to change to a tire which hopefully will help reduce the road noise.

I have consider the Bridgestone TURANZA GR-80/ AR10
was wondering which is better???

also if you guys have a better recomendation please do recommend...

thanks!

FYI, I was using NCT5 205/60/R15 (until last Saturday) and you are right... Noisy on the road... Once change to Michelin MXV8 205/65/R15... It is so much better.... Hahahha... So happy now... Never know the tyre can reduce the noise so much... hahaha... Good stuff.
