but if we step brake..we need a better front tire so the tire only can grip the road ma..if not skid wor..

Soya you had misundertood, actually the less tread means more grip because more contact on the road(in same quality and age). Tread on tires is to channel or evacuate the water away to avoid aqua-planning(aquaplanning means your tires floating on the water,no contact on the road, means you have no/lost control for the grip). Tread on tires also used to improve grip on muddy or loose dirt road, that is why off-road 4x4 car need bigger tread during drive on off-road.

Why new tires at behind? If old tires at behind when cornering if you lost control at back, everything is too late for average driver, when you realize and the car already spin.
Now if anything went wrong in front, your steering would shake and warning you very early there is something wrong with the grip, and you still can maintain control with the steering. But if behind? You have nothing to control.
If you really concern your safety, just change all 4 of your tires. Then there is no more argument. If not then just don't speeding and stay sensible speed. Driving need lots of experience and attention.

Ah.. another thing is really important, correct air pressure in your tires play important role too, result stable ride, control, grip safety, save from tire explode, save petrol, etc. Most of Malaysian driver seldom check air pressure until something went wrong and blame the tires no good la bla bla bla. Believe me,ask them driver what is their cars correct air pressure. How many PSI/BAR?
Some of them also use the air pump in the station wrongly, they simply just inflate pressed the wrong button(button to inflate punctured tire, the pump inflate to the maximum!) and drive away. How much air? They said it doesn't matter as long as can run then mo problem. doh.gif

umm..thanks for ur info..really helpful..but the tire tread u said..the lesser the better..is applying on semi slick tire??cause if i not mistaken the rubber is different quality wor..and there is once i use a totally threadless tire..i think is 0% thread left..the tire skidded with i brake..then i ended up kiss kiss the myvi very hard.. blush.gif 3days only punya new myvi that is not even 24hrs on the road let me break her virgin jor.. laugh.gif

You're welcome,I'm just share my experience with everyone over here who do forum-ing.
You miss one thing, the quality and age I did mention before this. If you're using the one 0% tread left tires which before this it actually has its tread 6years ago, then it is old tires already, the rubber had hardened, degraded by hot weather, also UV. Find one day and company your car's tires shine under the sun for 3 hours(if you can then do that as long as you can) and do that everyday for 6years then you would understand why 6years old used tires(even it still have 95% tread left) are unsave to provide good grip, unsave to travel in highway speed.

I had to send condolence to that MYVI,it must be very sad for that new car owner. Next time when you bought a new Civic with your own money and after a week you drive it out to somewhere, then a uncle bang your car behind,I think you would be very sad also.

Thanks Ralf True true,I used Yoko ES100 which have good grip in dry, weak in wet(no standing water on the road)wheel spin sometime during accelerate in my 100HP RWD sedan car. You can save your money by survey online, look for "tyres review" then you would be fine. nod.gif

Guess how fast is this Isuzu D-max crashed?

Ok. ok,your tires condition is not that good because you punish them alot during corner, that punish made your tires wear out unevenly, force the rubber do too much of force load would cause tires aging/reach its life time very soon.
You can see smokes and the wheel locked up means you're driving quite fast,I use Dunlop before and I know how fast my vehicle speed and hard braking lock up the wheel can causes that much of smoke.
I'm not going to comment how your accident happend because there are too many possible reason to cause that happend.
Only 1thing you would definitly say "THIS IS NOT MY FAULT!" it must be something wrong at there, not me! hmm.gif

As long as Soya think that suit your driving style or your vehicle due to suspension parts had wear out. But we have to find the balance between them, that's what pro keep looking in everything.
Thanks n8210 for supporting. There are many factors to consider when purchasing an alloy wheel, depends what you need,like..looks good at outside only?mostly city drive or highway?how much is your budget?Too much to list and I list few here.
Alloy rims weight less than steel wheels(those black color original come with) and have superior strength.Less weight means your car would perform better handling.
If budget allowed then you can opt for high end Multi-Piece rim,it looks more complicated design, but not strong as One-Piece rims.As you know there is alot of potholes on Malaysia road.
Offset- The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel, could improve traction by using correct one.
Stock rim
size 15 x 5.5J, PCD 100 (4holes), offset +40mm, tire size 195/55 R15
You can opt of 195/50 R15 tire,Bridgestone POTENZA RE001 Adrenalin, or Michelin pilot preceda ll, or Hancook Ventus R-S2. You would love the handling again
If you tried any these tires before and you don't satisfy with dry grip, and you should consider to upgrade your suspension.

Re 16"
size 16 x 7J, PCD 100 (4holes), offset +38mm/+36mm, tire size 205/50 R16(highway) or 205/45 R16(sport,better handling,response, but harsher ride)

Re 17" (Very good handling, and very harsh ride, not comfort at all)(Not recommended if always use in stop-go city route, car consume lot of fuel, and you know Wira Auto itself already consume alot)
size 17 x 7.5J, PCD 100 (4holes),offset +36mm/+38mm, tire size 205/40 R17

R in here means radial diameter. R15 means 15 inch,bro sweat.gif
I suggest you just goto tire shop and ask, since you don't have any idea about that. Ask anything because you're the one going to pay them, don't be shy with them.

I suggest you stay away from Sime tires, its very hard rubber. I've no confidence at all during wet, unless you always drive around 70KM/H. sad.gif
