depends on what car also lah.. if ur talking 500hp skyline best to run matched tyres.. but for normal car alot of ppl mix and match diff pairs with no prob, even for now im running michie pp2 and g'yr nct5 pairs on myvi
i used to run 1x sime (spare tyre) + 3x dunlop eco on saga before, cos its kinda wasting the tyre if its just collecting water and dust in the boot For normal use: 1. as long the tyre size matches the one on the other side its ok 2. brands not too important 3. drive axle should be matched pair if possible, the free rolling one apa pun boleh 4. when running new tyres dun pek corner for 1st 500-1000km This post has been edited by ceo684: Oct 31 2008, 12:52 PM |

QUOTE(soyaben86 @ Dec 11 2008, 10:46 PM) how bout those 2nd hand japan tire??some of my buddy claim that the weather there is cold mostly..so their rubber is a bit hard and also don't really suit m'sia road..it will crack kind of fast..is that true or just their silly claims again?? My dad's workplace had a jap dude over in msia. When it rained like how it rains normally, the jap was fascinated. Thought it was gonna flood So...I'd say that (localised-for-jap) tyres are good in dry. Dun push em too hard in d wet. |

Can do with two jacks, easier. if u have 2, that is. Else 1 also can lah.
Dun forget to chock the wheels and put bricks as "stopper" backup if using hydraulic jack. |

QUOTE(amduser @ Jan 12 2009, 03:29 PM) and mix 185 and 175 together? Good question. Seen quite alot of people attempted to use 185 on 5" rim. Normally 185 suits 5.5" width rims better. 185 on 5.0" is at the limit of tyre fitment IIRC.my parents never concern about car, especially my mother, as long as the car move, she wont care, so i decided to interfere with their thinking, i've decided to install the new tyres at rear and the old rear tyres change to front let it worn out then change to new one. i heard toyo T1R is good, but it doesn't seems to available in 175/65R14 or 185, toyo tyre r start from 15" right? is it really ok for me to put 185 on rear and 175 at front? BTW, my vios rim is stock 14" from toyota, can 185 really fit inside? Cos i read somewhere that says if ur tyres are too wide for ur rims, its not safe either. But then again, for normal use, just get either michelin xm1 or falken 912 or goodyear NCT5 for 175/65/14, the NCT5 for 99% traded-in tyres should be cheap. QUOTE(GRexer @ Feb 4 2009, 12:40 PM) Amongst the 3, I would rate it accordingly via the following How about tread life btw?Dry Performance Toyo T1-R > Michelin PP2 > Falken ZE-912 Wet Performance Michelin PP2 > Toyo T1-R > Falken ZE-912 Comfort Falken ZE-912 > Michelin PP2 > Toyo T1-R Noise Michelin PP2 > Falken ZE-912 > Toyo T1-R Overally, I would say that the Michelin PP2 is one of the better all-rounder tyres. You may also give the Yokohama C.Drive a try as it's also a pretty decent all-rounder like the Michelin PP2. |

QUOTE(iobai @ Mar 28 2009, 03:40 PM) Hi guyz, stock size IIRC for city is still 185/55/15abt few post here ago,i did ask abt pp2/falken... Finally i ended up getting pp2(rm215/pc) 2 replace my honda city stock tires..after reading through the threads here, seems like da profile tyre u guys recommend is 195/55/15, but i got 185/55/15 instead(i din realise it when changin)..so guys, hv i done a mistake? Wuts city stock tyre profile liao? Price ok? Thanks the trick is.. 185 has ~8mm tread depth when new 195 has ~10mm tread depth when new so 195 one will last a bit longer |
