Most Potenza starts from RM200 and above unfortunately.

In fact, the most bang per buck(everything also can do type, best all rounder. As in, decent wet performance, decent comfort levels, decent noise levels, and decent thread wear) is actually the Falken ZE-912 at the moment.

A range up if you don't mind trying Korean tyres would be the Hankook V12-Evo, which is around RM200-220(depending on where you get them) for the 195/55R15 size

Hi all, I need your help...

I'm driving a hodna civic 8gen and the car is very noisy cause I'm using goodyear NCT5, my tire profiles are 205/55R16 91V...

So I want to change to a tire which hopefully will help reduce the road noise.

I have consider the Bridgestone TURANZA GR-80/ AR10
was wondering which is better???

also if you guys have a better recomendation please do recommend...

thanks!

You might also want to give Falken ZE-912 a try. I would consider them as "comfort tyres with a touch of performance"

Grexer, since you are mentioning Falken ZE-912 as best all rounder, how about its weight?
Currently i'm using Falken Azenis 195/55/R15, and it is HEAVY, compared to Hankook V8RS.

Hankook V8RS is a decent price/performance tyre, but can be a bit noisy. Haven't tried the V12-Evo yet.

Er.. not sure about weight as I don't really go about weighing tyres. I do go around bringing my scale to weigh wheels though laugh.gif

Added on February 15, 2009, 7:46 pmThe TS is no longer even active in this thread, I did post a more or less updated version(with pricing of 2009 onwards) a few pages back.

hahaha... of course ler.... the reason i'm asking is because that falken azenis is heavy that it made my lightweight rims felt not light at all, compared on running with v8rs....

you might want to pm the thread owner or ask a mod to change/update the list laugh.gif

Already done that, seems like no response, unless... I become a mod, again laugh.gif In fact, I was the first moderator for this section years ago, together with Sleepwalker, but I kinda quit half way thru as I've got far too busy.

Thanks for everyone... I had just replace 4 tyres of mine into MXV8... Very quiet... And it solve vibrating problem... Today traffic not so smooth... So I only manage to try at 120km/h and no more sterring vibrating... And the tyres chun, clearly better than Good Year NCT5  thumbup.gif

I thought I bought 205/60/15, but I saw the receipt as 205/65/15... So not sure which I bought... I will try to check the tyre tomorror... But I am okay with either of the size.

The price is RM315 at Kin Alignment... But not including basic balancing also... The Balancing is RM30 for 4 tyres.  cool2.gif

Okay... Mine is 205/65/R15 as I read from the tyre... No mistake... RM315 each

FYI, I was using NCT5 205/60/R15 (until last Saturday) and you are right... Noisy on the road... Once change to Michelin MXV8 205/65/R15... It is so much better.... Hahahha... So happy now... Never know the tyre can reduce the noise so much... hahaha... Good stuff.

can we say that,

water dispersion rate depends on the grooves and design?

durability and grip depends on the material used to made the tyres?

if the tyres have V shape design like eagle F1 GSD3 or 4 grooves (longkang) then the tyres will perform better in wet compare to other?

the smaller the thread width the more comfort and silent is ride??

is that true?

I guess you'll end up getting a more "common" size instead by the time you need to change your tyres. As this would become an "uncommon" size according to our local tyre shops and priced quite a bit higher than those "common" size, hence, you'll just change your mind and stick to getting the "common" size which starts from 195/50R16 onwards to 205/55R16 wink.gif
