avoid KPMG.

Ditto. I still remember my interview with KPMG...waited freaking 3-4 hours for the interviewer to show up. Supposed to have the interview at 2 or 3pm (I can't remember), the interviewer only came at 6pm. Even the receptionist also went home and asked me to off the lights myself.

And when I finally had my interview, the interviewer asked me what motivates me. I answered appreciation for my work. The interviewer said she cannot remember a single time she has ever thanked anyone in her team.

WTF right. I only stayed there waiting for so long because I already came all the way from my hometown to KL just for the interview, so might as well wait.

Yeah, I ended up joining EY and I got along well with the team I worked with, although the workload was pretty crap.

But of course, every firm has their own politics - just need to know how to navigate through it and block it out.

Just want to share that I've interned in KPMG in 2016 and applied again for permanent position after I have completed my studies. Applied countless times for their new job openings in audit and tax. But I didn't receive any interview invitation. My resume is good imo like 3.5 CGPA, president of accounting club etc. I thought since I've interned there it could help me, but I guess not sad.gif Well at least now I got an internal audit job in a bank with way better work life balance and decent pay

That probably means that you didn't really impress them during your internship. If you did, they would have asked you about potentially joining as a permanent.

But anyways, IA is a lot better than EA in my opinion. Better work life balance.
