Hi, I just received an email today to complete the online assessment from EY. Could you elaborate further about the test?

Is it like a personality test or is it more of like an IQ test? Thank you!

It is quite hard for me but I passed it. I believe that they gave you an hour to finish it. It's more of a reasoning test and there's some maths questions as well. And at the end of the question, you are required to write an essay based on what the question asks. Good luck!

I applied through an employee referral on the 5th of October 2017. The HR team gave me a call the next day on the 6th to ask about myself. As I was driving, I asked her if she could give me a call on Monday (9th of October).

I then received an email to complete the online assessment two weeks later (24th of October 2017).

They then called me on the 3rd of November inviting me for a face to face interview at EY with the senior manager which was scheduled on Saturday (4th of November).

Did you have your interview with one of the partners? I just had my interview at EY last saturday. Thank god it was not that stressful and there wasnt any technical questions asked. I felt like it was more of a chit chat session to get to know more about me and if I could really tahan working in audit. It lasted for more than an hour. I’m just really hoping that I’d get the job.

May I know when did you find out about the results after the interview? Like how long did you have to wait? Thank you!

I just received a call today too from EY. And I got accepted!! Hehe. When are you starting? And in what division?

Maybe you should give them a call? I waited for 2 weeks after the phone interview and then decided to give them a call. Shortly after, they sent me the link for an online assessment.

I recently got a job offer at EY and they are offering me RM3.1k inclusive of allowance. The salary at EY should be around there for everyone I think? I had an interview with the senior manager and he didn’t ask for salary or anything and even my friend wasn’t asked. Maybe it’s best to not ask? Not so sure though. Good luck with your interview!

Well if they do ask you, you should then put at least RM3k because that’s the current salary at big 4 I think hehe. I know that Deloitte offers RM3k & my friend at KPMG got offered RM2800. So RM3k should be reasonable. They do have a section in the form later that you need to fill stating “Expected salary.”

Hi, it was early this year. He did an internship there and they offered him a position straight away after.

Which division are you applying to? Audit? It was more of a chit chat session to me. The senior manager was really nice and he genuinely wanted to know me more as a person. If you’re applying into audit, he wants you to know what you’re getting yourself into (long hours / deadlines). And he also wanted to know what do you want to achieve by working in audit & EY because he said there are so many people who went to that interview unprepared and only applied because by working in audit / EY because they believe that it’s a good career path and because EY is one of the big 4 etc etc. The interview lasted for more than an hour for me. I read on glassdoors that if it lasts more than an hour, then it’s a good sign haha. But just read the questions that people post on glassdoors and you should be fine I think. Best of luck!

I’m not sure as I probably didn’t fail it cause I got the invitation for an interview. It took me a week after I finished my online assessment to get a call from them. I got a call on Fri and the interview was on Sat.

Hi guys, I need help.

I'm currently an A2 in audit at EY. As you all are aware, EY has set some requirements before we can get promoted to seniors (i.e. we need to pass certain number of papers).

I only started taking my papers when I was an A2 because it took the HR nearly 6 months before they could approve when I wanted to change from ICAEW to MICPA (despite being constantly chased by me). The current situation now is that I need to sit for this one paper in December before I can get promoted to senior but EY is not allowing me to take the paper due to the rule that we're only allowed to sit for 2 sittings per year. I took one exam in April 2019 and taking another one in September 2019.

As such, if I don't sit for this exam in December, I can only sit for the next sitting which is in April 2020, and my results would come out in May 2020 and thus, I would only get promoted in June 2020 instead of getting promoted in Jan 2020 if I sit for the exam in Dec 2019. This has stressed me out so much. I am really thinking of leaving EY at the moment. Does other big 4 have these policies? And should I want to join the other big 4, should I apply as an A2 or I should apply for senior role?

I have not started any papers yet when I decided to change. I changed cause I have 11 papers left for ICAEW in comparison to 8 for MICPA.

Yup did Accounting & Finance in uni.
