Ohh I see... Is it also meaning that there is a need to submit a slightly different version of audit report to the BNM right? Aside from regular audit report to the SC... Or that type of audit is just submit another copy of the audit report to BNM?

Hi... May I know for the case of probation in any of the big 4, is it usually people will be turning into a permanent staff? And, at worst will it be extending the probation period or being fired, if the work performance is not that good?

Ohh... Actually, I got financial service audit offer in one of the big 4 (Nov start to work). I had my internship in a small audit firm (main engagement industries I worked last time: construction, property, manufacturing) previously for 6 months, and after internship the small audit firm welcomes me to go back there to work when I had done with my accounting degree.
As for the part of that previous I am asking about the worst scenario of the probation, in fact, I wonder how the worst-case scenario is, anyhow I still know all people will work for the level best lah... ahahahahahah... (*P/S: I rarely heard of this situation, so I might as well ask in this forum). |

Hi everyone, may I know is it okay if say i work for like within 6 months to 1 year* in one of the big 4, and then I quit audit of big 4 to complete the rest of like remaining 2 papers of my ACCA (study gap, but maybe work on part time Grab/Foodpanda/Lalamove, or Promoter or Online Shopping business), then continue work in commercial after another 6 months - 1 year? My current job is my first job in audit after graduation from university, excluding my previous 6 months experience as Audit Intern (mandatory internship sem in Accounting Degree) in a small audit firm.
Th reason I planned for this is because I wish to have more time on finishing the remaining papers and i found that working in audit while studying is challenging, especially the peak period in Jan-April period... Besides, I am also not that into auditing, I more prefer normal account reporting in commercial. Tq... |

QUOTE(zz287963 @ Nov 27 2022, 10:37 PM) Working in commercial after another 6 months - 1 year after the exam? Or right after your exam? You could do so but expect to start from entry level as I think the 6months - 1 year experience as external auditor doesn't really taken into account, think you would have much more bargaining power if it's a two years experience instead of just one. Then, expect to explain about your reasons for having that window between jobs. Oh I see... Previously I was meaning like After say 1 year of working in a big 4 audit (Now I am working in a big 4), then I take 6 months to 1 year study gap to complete remaining papers, and then followed that the rest of the life in any of the commercial to do normal accounts job.Yeah, I've been told by many that it is better to stay more than 1 year or even 2 years to have the bargaining power for jump shipping to Commercial. |

QUOTE(zz287963 @ Dec 23 2022, 10:47 PM) AFAIK, think all offer min 4k starting next year. Only starting next year, 2020 - 2022 first half, think still same as what it was 10 years back.. Yeap... I heard from PwC and EY there are about RM4,050 for fresh grad. While KPMG is like around RM4,200 or RM4,350 (Previously KPMG is RM3,650 for fresh grad, and RM3,800 for Fresh Grad who got ACCA Affiliate status - Passed all 4 papers already). The salary increment is effective by Jan 2023 for both KPMG and PwC, while EY already effective since Oct 2022. |

Now, I just think of trying to work in Big 4 Audit Firm for 1 year first (I joined one of the Big 4 since Oct 2022, with previous audit internship exp in small audit firm for 6 months), then is it possible the commercial to accept me in with the worst-case scenario 1.5 years working exp (1 yr full time audit, 6 months audit internship exp). If after 1 year, i still can tahan, and getting even stronger, then 2 or 3 years there will not be a problem...As for the window gap, let's see how first, after knowing that I think better dun have window gap, ahahahahah. (P/S Other topic: I dunno if in Commercial mmg got time to do revision for the remaining papers of ACCA or not) |

QUOTE(Flame111 @ Apr 17 2023, 11:12 AM) It is encouraged to take AAA while you are study part time while working in audit line in any Big 4 or Big 10 or any small audit firms. As the AAA paper of ACCA will help in grasping the fundamental knowledge in audit while you are working in audit. I am also taking it currently as I will be sitting for my AAA (Advanced Audit and Assurance) exam in this June. Hoewever, it is strongly encourage to take SBR first before taking AAA, as AAA will require quite extensive IFRS knowledge from SBR, especially when answering for the audit risks and audit completion review question.Hopefully this two cents of mine will help... All the best in ACCA, and cheers. ViLenG liked this post

QUOTE(Mattrock @ Apr 17 2023, 09:32 PM) Hi. My son just completed the first 9 ACCA papers, and thinking of applying to audit firms. Should he apply for internship or for associate position? Well that depends too... If he is lack of money and/or wishing to step into society slightly earlier then yes, he may choose to do so. However, if he is not having any financial problem, then he may choose to complete the remaining last 4 papers first, then only starts working.Thanks. As for my case, I took Accounting Degree in a Public University of Malaysia, which granted me 9 papers of exemption, and I only managed to start my remaining 4 papers at the final sem final year of my degree. Hence, I had to part time study for the 3 remaining papers (I passed 1 before start working) as I found myself a bit late to step into society due to I went to Form 6 + Malaysia Public University (quite a long process but the cheapest way of education to get a degree). Afterall, it is all depends on him, the remaining 4 papers for him will be able to be completed within 2 years one... This is my another 2 cents, hope this will give you an insight. |
