Even for an au pair position you need to have a valid "Work travel" visa or even a 475 visa at least. All income earned must be declared with the tax office.

QUOTE(marbel_tan @ Mar 7 2016, 10:38 AM) Don't mind me asking, are Singaporeans that difficult to get along with?I have a number of Singaporean friends and distance Singaporean relatives. They are all terribly nice especially the relatives whenever we visit Singapore. This post has been edited by ssurrey: Mar 8 2016, 11:39 AM |

QUOTE(shazam7 @ May 4 2016, 11:43 AM) Basically there is a safety net. If you are talking about the super co-contribution … you are only eligible if you are employed/self employed and are contributing into the super yourself as well. The amt is so small that you will not survive. Unemployed are not eligibleMedical and aged care services are heavily subsidised. If your super (EPF) is below a certain threshold, the govt tops it up to ensure that minimal living standards are met. Basically the Oz government is panicking a bit now, cos the population is aging and there r not enough taxpayers to take over. Hence they are allowing all the mainlanders to come in and invest n contribute to the tax revenue. source : https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/super/in...o-contribution/ Aged care is income tested and you would need to have a substantial amt of cash or top hospital cover to live comfortably in aged care residence. The amt the govt contributes is less and less. I have seen those figures in the public hospital and conditions are pretty bad in the big badly funded public services. You really don't want to be sick and poor. You will only get priority treatment if you are at your death bed. We can no longer rely on the govt to fund our healthcare and I hope I will never have to set foot in a hospital and die peacefully at home. What I don't get it is many people have said life in Malaysia is still great and are still able to make lots of money but many people are still dying to migrate to Australia. After seeing the real life here many are still not satisfied. Are most people just following the crowd after hearing from friends and relatives how great life in Aust?
I have lived here for over 30 years and life is not heaven here. I have seen many people having better lives in malaysia. After doing much DIY task here and raising a family while working all on our own, physically and mentally we are exhausted . I envy many of my friends and relatives not needing to lift a finger on any housework and even able to leave the children home with maids while they go on relaxing holidays. I believe in order to improve life in Malaysia for everyone, people in the country should rise up and make things better. The current lousy government should be thrown out. I usually do not like to review my private life in a very public forum. What I would like to express is okay to give up somethings in life n just be contented with what we have and thank God we are no living like refugees in many war torn countries. QUOTE(shazam7 @ Jun 21 2016, 01:39 PM) Different CITIES charge differently. In Melb for example, there are 2 authorities that I know of. This information is not accurate. Yarra Valley Water only bill us about $72 per annum, not $200 per quarter. It is collected on behalf of Parks Victoria for the maintenance of parks and all the facilities such as children play ground and free gas BBQ facilities throughout Victoria and public toilets in the parks. The water charges are incredibly exxy for a homeowner. Besides usage and sewage have to also pay park charges which amount to $200+ per quarter....ridiculous. If there is a dispute with a bill (had $1000+ bills twice) u have 2 call in plumber to check ($300+) and argue n argue until they discount or waive it. For this reason alone, owning a house is a pain in the ***. Better let landlord gau tim this. http://www.yvw.com.au/Home/Youraccount/Und...rices/index.htm I don't think I can even find any free gas BBQ facilities in Malaysia. Are there any there?? Anyone? Then at least I know where to go if I do visit. I love a good BBQ undercover in a clean park. This post has been edited by ssurrey: Jun 21 2016, 05:57 PM |

QUOTE(shazam7 @ Jun 22 2016, 10:04 AM) Well, the information is accurate for me. I paid for it. I'm not talking about water usage .. I'm indicating about the parks fees ..You mentioned that you paid the parks fees $200 per quarter. Of cause water usage depends on the number of peopple on each household and summer usage can be much higher than in winter.City Water West charges differently from Yarra Valley Water, same as the councils calculate rates differently. As I mentioned earlier, it is not possible to provide a precise amount for water related charges since it varies (even within the same city). I know homeowners in Perth pay even more. |

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Oct 14 2016, 03:54 PM) The best liveable suburb i would recommend would be camberwell(within boroondara council), during peak hour express trains take only about 10-15mins from/to CBDBtw, it is well known that Geoffrey Rush lives in the area and at times he is on the train. QUOTE(xamenyap @ Mar 25 2017, 04:32 AM) hi sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but ... Why are you so desperate that you have to bring corruption here? This is Australia not Malaysia.. where everything can be done with money and connections. Don't spoil it for everyone please.im a fresh graduate. i completed my degree in aus and i have a working visa 485 which allows me to find a real full time job there but the thing is the competition is really tough and i have been trying for months. i have an economics degree ( finance & international trade major ). considering i am very desperate, is there like some third party agent who can help me in recruitment? i dont mind paying a fees as long as there is a possibility. my real priority is just getting a PR. if you know anyone , please intro them to me. Go through the right channel like everyone else did. This post has been edited by ssurrey: Mar 25 2017, 06:53 AM |
