Depends on where you are and the child's age. $100 per day is pretty low in Sydney, I think you'll only get that in council's child care which has a really long waiting list. We were on $165 per day (that is not the most expensive you can find), and now that we moved to a cheaper area, it is closer to $130 per day. We interviewed 4-5 each time and the price is pretty average for the area we looked at.

Maybe this is why one of my hong kong friend's wife give up her job and take care of the child instead, can cook for her husband, and prepare afternoon lunch for him also. if self take care can be as much as 1 month salary, I would do the same. 165 AUD.. gosh.. lol

Told you PR is useless. Make your money well spent by buying better things.

Seems like my advice has fallen on deaf ears. Never mind, good luck to those wanting to go there. But like I said, buying citizenship is much more realistic.

I can't brain it... I used about RM 30k for my application via agent - 15K agencies fees + Visa fees of RM 14k (3600 aud). My child is studying there now with citizen benefits.

vs

Buy citizenship using 1.5mil AUD.

Are you nuts? You are blabbing on nonsense.

just dont bother him.
he had probably failed at some stage.

Anyway, your child was born there? Immediately become citizen?

my husband had a job there, so he decided me to have our child born there.
at the beginning is was hard because childcare is expensive, i remembered it is like 120 AUD per day.

So i quit my job here and take care of him there for few years until I met a new Malaysian lady in Malaysian club there. She offered to help me to take care at a very minimal expenses laugh.gif

Somehow i feel the Malaysian community group there are much friendlier than here.

You will always get dumbwits like this - you just have to ignore them. Part of living in Aust - if you take everything to heart, you will get upset over nothing.

You get a lot of Pauline Hanson's brothers and sisters  biggrin.gif  who are always creating trouble for migrants. We just have to ignore them - we are already on Aussie soil and it is too late to get rid of us now smile.gif

actually not the first time. since the pandemic. But they manage it well i guess. haha

I personally don't mind these types so much, all bark and no bite - you'll get over them in a few days with a sufficiently thick skin. There was one time a guy who was mentally unstable - he approached my wife and started mouthing off while we were waiting for a train, in town hall/central I think. He looked really aggressive and kept coming closer - I had to stand in between them and quickly moved us away. These crazy or more violent/physical ones are those to look out for.

To be fair I think the discrimination I received were roughly 50% locals and 50% other migrants who think I'm some rich mainland Chinese property buyer or they just dislike orientals(?) in general.

sometimes i feel safer when I return from Aussie to KL biggrin.gif

Actually there are 2 ways you can choose to react when you are harassed by racists.

One - the Aussie way - stand up to the bully and confront them. Insist on your right of being a human being and there is no room for racism in Aust (after all we are all here legally and has a right to live in a democratically-elected country).

Two - the Asian way, that is, to back away and try to resolve the problem with minimal harm/injury to ourselves. Some may think that this is a cowardly approach to problems/racism.

I have been living in Aust since early 1981 and i have been in a lot of incidences/altercations whereby physical injury threats were made to me/wife and i have chosen to adopt the second way of resolving problems. I am now nearly 59 and i will not change my stance on my approach to racism which i think is the best approach - this approach varies greatly from people to people and you can start a huge debate on this issue so i rest my case.  biggrin.gif

I usually just walk away with my husband and ignore them.

Shepperton  in winter - wow, it is going to be cold (esp in the mornings/night).

Looks like there is a lot of confidence in the economy at the moment. House/unit price surging, strong share market as well as a strong Aussie. Everyone in Aust seems to be laughing now. Hope it stays that way for a long while.

I am applying to go back to KL in late May - if successful, i may be going back to KL at the end of May for a trial retirement. A bit scared about the Covid cases in Msia but my wife seems more scared about the cold  smile.gif  coming soon.

Covid case in Malaysia is like walking on string. the moment if there is a big gathering, then is gone case. We have no margin of mistake.

Anyway, happy retirement.

We are selling our house in Aussie. Hubby decided not to move back sad.gif .

I have been telling my wife we should not go back until Covid cases are down in Msia but she really misses het younger sister very much. My wife's father and oldest brother has also passed away in the last 12 months and she couldn't go back to KL to attend the funeral.

If you are selling your house now, you are probably making a motza. House prices in every state has gone crazy - this makes house owners very happy and confident. I can see all my retiree friends all so happy in the last 6 months  biggrin.gif . All our investments are shooting up and Aussie dollar is very strong. How long the party will go on for, well, that is anybody's guess. AT the moment all oldies are party-ing and feeling very confident - a big of that is because most states have been experiencing 0 new cases for the past few months and people are moving around without needing to wear masks.

it is, but the property prices for commercial in Malaysia is not cheap too. this is why we needed funds to buy our warehouse for our business in KL. We have a house in Campbelltown NSW. but is a small house. can't expect high price.
