During my time there, I have heard that the job outlook isn't very positive as most of the vacancies available now are mainly temp/contract. I am working under accounting industry (public practice to be precise).

My PR is currently running (left 3 years ++) and I have not make a move as I was unsure about the job security in Brisbane. To those who are now in Down Under, are you able to confirm me whether the unemployability rate is rising?. Thanks.

I suggest that you take up cert 3 or 4 on other trades to work as aged care or daycare?

obviously based on my circle of friends and it's not friend's friend and it's close friends, 15 are accounts and 3 with permanent job, 6 with contract 6 months and 6 jobless hanging for a year working as uber and coles. If this fact is not strong enough, my wife is a qualified accountant too and working under contract too.
I only telling the real life situation here. If any accountant out there still thinking try to source thru seekdotcom, well, do a calculation how many jobs are permanent and contract AND same job repeated by the recruiters. WHY? When it came to the 6 person who actually jobless in accounting more than a year, i absolutely will ask them to look for 2nd option OR go back till the good time return. If they're single w/o kids is easy, but with whole family will be different story. BTW the 6 person are with families with at least a kid with them. So, what do you reckon then?

Aust their 3rd (sometimes 4th) choice. They still love the US, England and Canada. Anything that can rid them of their South Asian passports, which most of them call 'useless' because of so many visa restrictions.
