 Can Maxis Home Fibre compatible with Mi router?

Hi all

Can Maxis Home Fibre compatible with Mi router? If can how to setup for it? Do I still need the original maxis router together with Mi router? Thank a lots.

If you use it as AP, it defeats the purpose of getting it. That router doesn't support vlan tagging out of the box which is required by unifi and maxis fiber.

Hi zher

Thank you very much. I did ask those selling mi router in lyf and they said just plug in to maxis router and it's works well.

If you are plugging it into router it function as AP. The root cause of poor performance is due to the maxis router. If you plug it into BTU(connected to fiber cable), you are using it as router. Making it function as router requires vlan tagging as I had mentioned earlier.

Hi Zher

i did call maxis CS and what they have tell me that i cant use the phone only if i use other brand router. from tm modem to my mi router but need to do setup for that. smile.gif

You still need to setup VLAN tagging unfortunately.
