Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum. Im still quite new here so please bear with me... tongue.gif tongue.gif

Basically, i'm having a dilemma on choosing 3 laptops, as below:

- Asus Transformer Book Flip TP500LB-DN002H 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-5500U-2.4GHz
- 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD+24GB SSD
- NVIDIA® GeForce® 940M
- Windows 8.1
RM3084

- Lenovo U41-70 80JV004AMJ 14" Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-5500U-2.4GHz
- 256GB SSD, 4GB DDR3 RAM
- NVIDIA® GeForce® GT920M
- Windows 8.1
RM3064

- Lenovo Z51-70 80K600-6UMJ 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-5500U-2.4GHz
- HYBRID 1TB SSHD(8G), 4GB DDR3 RAM
- AMD R9 M375 4GB
- Windows 8.1
RM3064

All 3 of them have FHD screen, personally i'd prefer asus one because it can be used as a tablet but i've heard that there is some issue with the screen brightness ( the screen is quite dark, average brightness only around 150 cd/m2 ), and the screen is very reflective too (glossy). Lenovo U41-70 seems nice too because it has full ssd hard drive, and 256gb is enough for me, but the bad things is about the gpu, only gt 920m, seems not good enough. Lenovo Z51-70 seems to have the best specs here, but is amd gpu reliable??

I wish to have a good laptop for viewing movies and playing games at good display and fps. Usually, i play games like dota 2, but if i have a better laptop, i would like to try newer games like GTA V, skyrim, etc etc

So what do you think guys?? Im having a dilemma now... cry.gif cry.gif

Feel free to give me any other recommendation, my budget is below RM 3,500.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif smile.gif

AMD gpu should be no problem.

If you can afford the Z series, it does seems to be a better gaming tool compared to U41.

But if you want it for office work, U41 is way much better.

If u are more into gaming, I suggest dell 7447. It comes with gtx 850m which is good for gaming & everything else. Screen quality is fair enough I think, unless u really want to do some photo editing stuff, Photoshop etc..

Thanks for the suggestion!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif But i've heard that dell inspiron has some overheating issue which kills the lifespan of the laptop, how is the laptop actually? And is there a vast difference between gtx 850m and 940m?

FYI, I'm a dell 7447 user myself, and I can say that the laptop is quite good for budget gaming on the go. In term of performance, the laptop can pretty much handle heat quite well but definitely not for heavy/extended long hours of gaming. If u do gaming quite a a lot, and/or use your laptop like a desktop replacement, u definitely need a cooler. I do use exhaust type cooler and it works great with my dell 7447 for long hours of gaming. My dell 7447's temp never exceed 78/79 degree with that cooler. Performance wise, u need to know that nvidia gtx series outperform every non gtx (gt) card. So gtx850m is wayyyyyyyy.. better than 940m in every aspect I can guarantee it. So far, my dell 7447 can pretty much play many recent games on the market at the moment (far cry 4, metal gear solid the phantom pain, gta v, fallout 4) with high setting, with 30-50 fps. cool2.gif

Wow that is awesome! How is the display? Is it satisfying? Actually does 1366x768 varies alot from 1920x1080?

Dell 7559 still brings more value in terms of price to performance ratio.

The MSI is on an older gen processor and inferior GPU compared to the Dell.

All these 3 models are using i7 5500U. For the price over 3k rm, i think you can find better choice. Like what fordking99 suggests, you can buy a better spec with only adding a bit more. Much better cpu and quality. nod.gif

hey GoodBoiBoi,

The MSI CX62 would be a good choice that's well within your budget and if your main game is Dota2.

The Dell 7559 and MSI GP62 are two other good choices at higher budget. Both use the same 6th-gen Intel i5 processor but have some pros and cons.

Dell 7559 cost more but comes with a higher 960M GPU. But some minor limitations below
- doesn't support DDR4 RAM so each RAM slot limited to max of 8GB DDR3 instead of 16GB DDR4
- only HDMI display port (but no issues if you're not running multi display)
- no support for USB Type-C (faster connector)

MSI GP62 is slightly cheaper but has a 950M GPU. In comparison to the above,
- comes with faster DDR4 RAM, upgradeable to 32GB
- has HDMI and Mini-Display port (good for running multi display)
- has USB Type-C (faster connection, quick charging and display output as well)

IMHO, i would stick to models with 940M GPU like the MSI CX62 and save your budget for a better higher end gaming machine once you decide on what games you like to play.

All the best and happy shopping! icon_rolleyes.gif
