If you bought everything original, not modified in anyway.... should be under warranty of shop or Nintendo brand itself.
Aside from trying to find the solution yourself, what actually is the seller doing? Taichi back to you?

Sadly, such is the case of device warranty in Malaysia. Unless its from a distributor (which I read here only gives what, 3 months?) all others are from the shop themselves. And often times when anything goes wrong they can either foot the cost or tell you a grandmother story with flying pigs and honest lawyers. Guess which one is their pick most the time.
One bad experience from Sg Wang and I've been avoiding that place like the plague...
My DS Lite had a dodgy R button which was very irritating (can't drift in Mario Kart!) but thank goodness I got mine from DjiNn whom got it fixed. Even though i specificly asked him to let me watch when he takes it apart but he went ahead and fixed it first...
So when getting devices that are not backed my manufacturer/distributor's warranty, get it from a reputable dealer. It might be worth the few ringgit extras in the end.
As for your DS, I suggest you try and contact thaisx or DjiNn and describe your symptoms and see if it sounds like a failed flash attempt. I think thaisx has a method of swapping BIOS that can reflash an FW to the DS Lite. Don't know i f it would help, but like I said from a previous thread, your case DOES sound a wee bit like a failed flash attempt, or a burnt fuse or something.
Good luck man. I feel your sorrow.
