Hiya, i was wondering if anyone knows how much a 5000 piece(s) or <5000 jigsaw puzzle will cost and where would be a good place to buy one.

I was thinking of purchasing one as a gift for a friend.

Hope you guys could provide some rough estimates. Thanks! biggrin.gif

2000pcs costs RM170 (non glow in the dark) when I bought mine at the beginning of the year. 5000pcs should be slightly more expensive.

Good place to try is Jigsaw Puzzle world in 1U or MV. Those are more trustworthy.

their prices are also cheaper. they can do framing as well and they provide customade puzzles too.

l started work on the 24,000 pcs World’s Largest Jigsaw Puzzle on 16 June 2010 and completed it on 22 November 2010. l assembled the puzzle in four individual sections. I had not joined the sections yet as i have a small living room.

l truly enjoyed assembled pieces of puzzle.

I plan to display this puzzle on wall when i move to my new house.

I really look foward for bigger puzzle: maybe a 36,000 puzzle?

Cheapest for 1000 pieces is around RM90.

Hi people, I got directed over here by VincC454

Can anyone help me out with a jigsaw puzzle issue?

I recently bought a glow in the dark puzzle, my usual strategy is to glue the back and leave the front untouch, so far this has work for me.

But last night, a friend of mine recommended that I apply glue to the front to give it that glossy finish and preserve the puzzle condition. Having run out of the puzzle glue that came along with the puzzle, I used another puzzle glue to glue the front. The end result was disastrous, my puzzle lost its glow.

I looked up online and most guides say never to glue the front of a glow puzzle, because the glue will provide a layer that reflects light rather than absorb it, which is what makes it glow. I called the shop this morning and asked about it, and they gave the same answer.

However, a Japanese friend of mine said there's no harm in applying the glue, it works just fine. I am abit skeptical at the moment and I would like to get some advice, because I purposely went down and bought the same exact puzzle again just so that I can frame one that had glow. Before I start spending money for a third, exact puzzle, I want to know what you guys think?

The packeting on the glue, my Japanese friend and most Japanese forum says glue the image of the puzzle, but people here say glue the back of the puzzle.

Can someone explain this from a scientific PoV? Really confused and I don't wanna make the same mistake again. At the same time, I wanna make the best decision because this is the last puzzle I'm doing and will be framing, so I'd appreciate any advice offered. I tried reading up on guides on the internet but there was no discussion in regards to it.

Feel free to share any similar experiences that you have too.

In case this helps, I got my puzzle from the a shop in Mid Valley called Jigsaw Puzzle World.
