Actually what u see in the screen is RGB where the colors is bight and vibrant. That color setting is for onscreen display only. What is printed out is based on CMYK colors, the setting is at default for print media.
The dark looking colors were due to the key color.. aka Black ( refer to the jargon below ). So in future, if you are printing any photos, remember to set your document to cmyk then do your editing. Or, you can set your color mode in the print settings if u want to retain the brightness of RGB.
You can change color mode in your print settings.
Jagron : RGB : Red Green Blue.
CMYK : Cyan Magenta Yellow K = Black
