Because he IS a foreigner. CRonaldo does get loads of stick for diving but that's due to his already tainted reputation. Same goes to Pires who only did it twice (at least proven on video) and gets slaughtered non-stop. Drogba was condemned because he admitted to cheating and has no remorse in it.

Rooney and Gerrard never got much stick because of their status as English heroes? Nor did anyone call Shearer a dirty player for his elbows when jumping for headers. What about the media lambasting Gallas for half a season (and still going on) for one emotional outburst yet Rio Ferdinand's kungfus at Stamford Bridge didn't get highlighted as much? Or when Lampard played when his mum died he was lauded as a hero, but no one made any notice when Sagna played after his brother's abrupt death?

I'm not picking on any players here, but rather pointing out the protection English players have from their media and their unfair treatment to foreigners. Oh well... we'll just have to live with it since it's inevitable for the media to be biased towards their own kind.
