Do you want this for personal use or professional ? You may check with Panasonic Malaysia. But for sure the cost will be more compare to the website.

The mini DV camera to get now is the DVX if you want one for professional work. At pretty much less than 10k these days, that is probably the best professinal mini DV camera money can buy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't bigger cameras like that be more stable since you have to use the shoulder to support it?

MD10000 is not really the professional choice. It is a Prosumer quality camera. I use it for wedding shoots. It also needs lots of light for indoor shoots. If you are doing Corporate videos then you would look for better ones.
Yes, to me shoulder based cameras are more stable to use compared to handheld ones. Of course you could use monopods or tripods but in certain cases you just need to hold the camera for more than 5 minutes. Then you would see your camera going up and down and you will be forced to pause. Unless your arms are so well developed then maybe you can hold it for longer period of time.
Of course you dont want to look like a cameraman when you are on a family outing. Imagine that you are in park holding a shoulder based camera..... People would be thinking that you are making a movie!! Anyway, you just cant shoot anything anywhere with big cameras. Some places are restricted. So choose wisely.
For JJY... if you really want this camera, Selangor Photo at Pertama Compleks or Bintang Maju and several shops in Sungei Wang sell this model. Price should be around RM4000. Picture quality... ok. Need lights. If you want to test the camera pm me. But you have to come to my office in Cheras, K.L.
