there's mostly areas like
1. nut height
press the string on ur 4th fret den check the string height on the 1st fret from the fret itself...space jz enuf for a pece of paper to pass thru wil b nice
2. straight neck check
capo or press the string on the 1st fret, den use ur other hand to fret on the 17th fret, then check the sting height on the 7th and 8th fret. there shud be jz very little space (yeah thickness of a paper)
u can do tis by twistin the truss rod, if u duno tat u can check on9 too...
its basicali
Left = Loose (relieve, higher string height)
righT = Tight (straighter neck, lower sting height)
3. saddle height / bridge height
if urs a Tune-O-Matic u can jz turn the erhmm..wat u cal tat the wheel thingy to adjust the height
capo or press string on the 1st fret, den adjust the wheel such that the string height on 12th fret is around 5/64" (lower on the treble side)
of cz the above setup is for low action, means u cant bang the strings too hard for it'l cause buzz...more to solo work
anyway, its oways nice to experiment and fiddle around ur guitar jz to understan more how it works and learn to setup ur guitar....
i dismember my bass few times haha more understanding ma...
take off the neck, the PUs, the bridge haha
